I wonder if it's some last minute marketing thing. Tinker stated in an interview that they wouldn't be giving out pairs to VIP's and such, suddenly 2 days before the auction ends we see this.
It was basically a full plug during that game:

Man they look so cool. My childhood dreams of owning them are so crushed right now. My fear is if they ever do re release these is that they wont look the same.

Anyone else notice that a lot of the attempted re-sell auctions are being cancelled? I was watching 5 different ones (and all from legitimate sellers that actually won the shoes), and they've all disappeared... The guy who's wife was going to kill him, someone else listed a pair specifically for international buyers, etc... There's two new ones up now, but I wonder if Nike is getting eBay to pull them until the official sale is over or something...
(There's also one seller claiming he was lucky enough to win 10 pairs, and is selling one pair only for a fair $10,000 :rolleyes . But he only won one pair, at least under the bidder ID he's selling it through...)
But so far I haven't seen any obvious fraudulent listings, just people trying to re-sell them quickly. Some just because they realized they shouldn't have bought them, most trying to make at least double what they paid for them... It'll be interesting to see how the re-sales go.

I figured it was something like that. If a big celeb legitimately wins them, they'll obviously make an exception to the shipping arrangements to get them in their hands quickly... It's good publicity.

Looks like the average did not drop like we had hoped....
This whole thing has just been incredible - I am so happy for the MJ Fox Foundation but it is still a gross misjudgment and slap in the face to fans how Nike did this.

Oh, I knew the prices wouldn't drop... Like any auction of this sort, they will start high, dip down to a fair average mid-way through, and then spike up again as they reach the end... The daily totals dropped every day until Wed, and now they are steadily going back up. I wouldn't be surprised to see the last day come in 2nd or 3rd highest...
