I would LOVE for Nike to rerelease these at more affordable prices, but can they really? I mean, if they use as a marketing talking point "these are a limited edition and that's it" - wouldn't the folks who bought DID buy them, I dunno, not sue, but something...?

How beholden is a company to keep something a "limited edition" if it's sold as such?

Naaa...

All they would have to do is change one thing... such as include something different or not include something (like the dvd), change something small like the box and they are good to go. I doubt thats gonna happen though.

TIME will tell. And is fitting as such, however fans have waited long enough. These shoes were a long time coming though I am curious to see how deep down the rabbit hole Nike is going into developing a power laces version for 2015.

Omit the lights, and your good to go i reckon, there no longer in the same class as the MJF LE's, and viable for sale, and Nike keep there word by NOT releasing THESE shoes.

I agree. The thing they could remove is the lights. Just have a light blue colored Nike logo on the strap instead of the EL.

Had read the petition (and signed it in fact) before I posted. What I was refering to was this auction process (you know...the main subject of this thread), not any future sales (which most likely wouldnt have proceeds goign to the MJFF). For the 2015 sales, I'm all for cheaper prices as then I can grab a pair! :)

Not sure how anything in my original comment makes a fool out of myself (especially as my comment in no way refered to the petition that is mentioned in your posting)...maybe I missed something there though

Ehhh...that's not entirely true. While there are some of us who buy pairs, and put them "on ice" (keep them in the box for years before we finally break them out), or buy multiple pairs, for the most part, we wear them. Granted, lightly, and maybe once or twice a year for certain models, but the ones who buy them and NEVER wear them are in the minority. Part of the payoff is wearing a pair of "neckbreakers", and getting that attention.

In reality, a size-adjusting jacket would not really be practical or even necessary.
The drying function MAY have some practical use, but would the technical aspects of it be worth the time and money??
The shoes and the jacket were designed to be 'gags' in the movie. But as Nike designer Tinker Hatfield said, the shoes have developed a cult fallowing and as such, Nike started to really look into the possibility of making the power laces.
Would power laces REALLY be necessary on shoes.
Sadly, no.
It's a gimmick. It's nothing that would improve sneakers in any way other than making them 'cooler' and the whole 'wow' factor.

The thing about the re-sizing function of the jacket that makes me laugh is the pockets. I realize this makes more of a visual show in the movie when the jacket is adjusting, and that's why they did it, but in reality even if jackets size-adjusted there would be no reason for the pockets to do so.

Just FYI, we are talking in the petition thread about doing some videos for YouTube to help promote the Nike petition.
I am on board to make a video and if anyone else here has some video making software, we are encouraging you to make a brief video to post on YouTube stating our case for Nike to bring these shoes back out.
The more videos we have the better.

Actually after the one girl made the power laces (her youtube video's were posted earlier and she was on Good Morning America) there was a great demand for them by the elderly and people with arthritis.

Great idea. I think it would also be great for those of you that bought the MJFF Air Mags to tell them that you too would like to see these released! :thumbsup

Absolutely.
I'm even going to go as far as writing a letter to Nike - as I am sure they will be getting a ton of those as well. One letter may not do anything - but several thousand just may....
Prob a week or so after I get my Mags I will make the video.
