Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

Not a bad match for the grey on the mid-sole.

Australian buyers - you'll need to get a voltage converter / plug converter as they only come with American plug.

I guessed plug adapter, but what about the actual plug pack unit? 110V or 110V/240V?

I ended up just changing out the unit for the V2s because they used those mini USB ports. I just found myself a 240V>5V charger with dual connectors and it all worked great for a time.

it's a textile paint. Not sure about putting ebay links on here, but for anyone who's looking, search for Jaquard Neutral Grey. Recently ordered another small tub. I also ordered some 'sport' MAGs through AliExpress a week or 2 ago, so was going to use the new paint for their midsoles and heel cup. Just need to find a really matte clear coat for this as the V2s midsole looks much more shiny than the V3s. - clear topcoat wasn't as matte as it said on the packet or something I think. The trick to painting the midsole with paint from a bottle rather than spraying is to water it down slightly, paint a bit at a time with a tiny brush and wait for it to dry before doing another coat. That way you don't lose the texture of the midsole and don't get brushstrokes. It took me DAYS of doing a little bit here, a bit there after coming home from work. But it worked, and has held up with many wears and cleanings, never cracking or peeling. The paint on sections of the undersole wore away, but i was expecting that, contact with the ground and all.
The HC's paint is really slathered on very thick and seemed (to me) this was one of the (many) things that made them not as good as they could have been.

This is a thread dedicated to V2 and V3, so I am sure links to products that help us mod these shoes is just fine.

When I painted my mid-soles, they were not that shiny, but the rubber I added later certainly was. In the end, I used a rotary tool and ceramic bit took the shine off. Of course just rubbing them down with with a bit of acetone takes the shine off as well. Just don't rub too hard, it takes the paint off too.

The HCs were a rushed out, mass produced item aimed at a certain market. The V2s were quite nice when they first came out, but once they became popular, they also got a slapped on paint treatment.

And that site can't supply V1s anymore either, so am looking at HCs for a paint job to an all white pair.

DragonGalvy If your paint still as good as this after wearing them, you should add the splatters !!! I really fear to wear my painted shoes outside because of the cracking issue :/
I used angelus but haven't added some water in. And I see that my Roshe Mags (that I wore about once a week) are starting to crack and peel off :( so I'm not getting the Shibusa Mags out :/

Your V2 loks very good even aside the V3 IMO.

am looking at HCs for a paint job to an all white pair.
Shoot some pictures when done :) (I have another white one on the way too)

For the guys who received their V3 in Europe, did you receive yours with a US plug? If yes, which plug are you using instead?

How well will you have to clean off the parts you are casting so they actually glue to the shoes?

The release agents are basically just wax, It washes off with soap and water easily. You need to make sure its removed for the parts to be glued though. So far I think I will use "Freesole" urethane adhesive. I will probably start gluing the soles on soon.

Welp. I've watched the last half hour of BTTF2 over and over, can't find any definitive shots that can prove those are the pair. They may be the same, and most likely are, but there are no great shots in the film to show distinct scuffs. Maybe they got those scuffs, or they got worse, after filming?

Any chance you can post a original sole + EL and your new sole + EL shot? Maybe even the light blue may let more light out.

They shot 2 and 3 back to back and he is wearing them in the 1885 Hill Valley as well as 1955. So along with kicking rail sleepers, walking in horse crap, and being dragged behind a horse, those scuffs are more likely post BTTF2 filming or from filming BTTF3.

The inverter is too weak for sure...but again I feel its on purpose.

Not sure which rectangular inverter you guys are talking about, but this is the one I am replacing it with. I know it can run the shoes EL full power. My idea is this..currently the bottom shoes EL connecter seems to be the only one you can get access to without opening the ankle buckle which is basically impossible without butchering your shoes. So my plan is directing the bottom sole to a new inverter I add in the sole. Hopefully...the bottom sole no longer running off the original inverter will then brighten the strap and the new inverter will of course run the sole EL full power too. Going to try this first since its the least destructive method I can think of to get full brightness.

Have you done this yet ? if so can you show us how to do this.

Well the shipping gods must be with me today, because as I was racing home to beat the DHL truck, I received a text saying they attempted the delivery but I wasn't home....only to discover the box sitting at my front door!

OK so here are some quick and dirty pics:

Initial review: ***** H. ****** these are awesome. Yeah there are a few tiny blemishes, but the shoes are super solid. I had some headaches with QC pics, but I'm glad it all worked out in the end. Soles are slightly yellow. But my box barely has any damage and the license plate is 100% scratch free.

Here's my timeline for these size 12s:
7/27 - Paid
8/3 - QC pics for pair 1 (which I rejected)
8/11 - QC pics for pair 2 (for some reason didn't include pics w/ lights on)
8/11 - 18 hours later, QC pics w/ lights on (but it was a different pair...)
8/14 - DHL notification that shoes had shipped
8/16 - Shoes delivered

The El seems to have cleaner lines, and I am sure it lets out more light but not really enough to notice. I am going to do comparison pics of my modded pair vs none modded side by side pics when done.

Haven't really messed with the inverter yet. I just don't see a good way to access the inverter without tearing the shoe up to the point where it will be difficult to reassemble. The only idea I have right now, is to remove the ankle buckle where its glued to the fabric and cast a slightly larger ankle buckle so when I glue it back on it will cover where the original was glued. I am still thinking about what I will do if anything while I still work on the soles. I did do a comparison between an EL ran 100% power vs the shoes EL panel...and Id guess the shoes EL is probably about 70% out of 100% it really wasn't a huge difference, but definitely noticeable.

davidjones888 this gentleman received the correct size sticker on his box. Why aren't all stickers correct? This seems like something simple.
