I wouldn't be doing it. Got burnt once when the V2s first came out, and they had released real photos of the actual product. That was only $109USD. $700USD? I can buy a nice upgrade for my HT for that.
Have we got another excuse from the vendors yet?

Do you recall the time frame from product announcement to pre-order to actual release? It was months. We have no idea who much lead time prior to that they had. The problem with the internet is we see something being announced for an upcoming release and we assume it is ready to go now and then get frustrated by the set back launch dates.
I wonder if this guy would sell me these shoes. Id sure like to reproduce the sole ;-)
We better send those to China,
That way they can examine them and stop making ******* excuses for not delivering us V3's or 99% replicas

Did you not see that? It came out October last year (yes, on the 21st) and MJF himself showed the world a power lacing NIKE MAG. No strap motor, just the same whiny motor pulling the main laces down.

Yes, I did see it a few hours after the video was put out! Although slow, still cool! Michael loved them. Even Nike have sped the footage up of these new ones lacing, as it's what people want to see and would hope they do, but obviously they don't. I'm sure a safety feature to stop the bloody supply being cut of in your feet! Haha. I'm sure someone can dismantle the shoe though and rebuild the motor faster, of do something similar, then find a way to get it into some mags. :cool
Just saw some real word videos on instagram of the shoes in action - didn't realize the motor was so noisy!

So depending on the price, it could be a good idea to somehow put the mechanism from these shoes into a pair of V2s.

You would have to chop and rebuild the mid-sole. The box you can see under the EARL shoe is way larger than the battery box cutout in the V2 and it probably needs to come forward to be centre of the laces.
