NIKE MAG Knockoffs

I think there's a positive response generator they click if not a bot altogether for their chat support. I was actually BANNED from shoebags for posting the factory pictures trying to give them a heads up! 0_0

You guys also have to remember with that diagram there's a foot inside the 89 shoe which can change the shape of the heel cup and form of the shoe. The back heel cup on the RD can easily look a little droopy without a foot inside.

Pitbull, what is the Heel Cup made of? I would have thought the purpose of that part was to provide support for the shoe, but reading what you have posted, it seems not. Not sure if you got the PM I sent you with an image of the new Heel Cups I am making out of 3mm ABS. They are quite rigid and my intention is that they provide a solid base for the shoe.

Well I mean if it were closer than anything else then I would be happy. The shapes don't seem too hard to make, so not much accuracy will be sacrificed. And if you were to make these soles, then would you make them accurate to the movie, or to the 2011s?
I am in the process of re-working the patterns for the uppers and when they are done, I'll make a start on the soles.

Are you asking if I'd do then clear or tinted blue? I like both and think the blue version would have a longer shelf life before turning yellow as will happen eventually.

I actually like the 1989 movie shoe a little more than the 2011 as that was the shoe that started this whole crazyness (is that even a word?) for me back then. There is something very special about seeing the original shoes in the film on screen and in screen caps.

So, these reps are really rep-licants?

Out of curiosity, I decided to search Taobao (China's equivalent to eBay) to see if the shoe is readily available in China.

I found a few links. Here's a sampling:
Auction 1
Auction 2
Auction 3

I was trying to see if I could find more images of the shoes for us...
Interestingly, instead of finding new images I noticed most of the auctions used the same images we've see. One auction even stole images from therpf.com

Action 1 and 2 look to be our V2 MAG [replicas]. Auction 3 is the RD MAG.

Top left is the RD MAG
Botton Left looks to be the same shoe.
Top Right looks to be a MP MAG conversion.
Bottom Right looks like the same MP conversion.

Top right, bottom left, and bottom right are SO2 Mark Poon conversions. I recognize the pictures from his thread.

I meant the shape of the rubber where the EL would go. It seems they changed the shape a bit for the 2011s.

If we look at the image supplied by TheNickFox, there are slight differences, but I would say that they are not significant. Sorry I don't anyway to compare the shoes from the front or back.

I will most likely model my sole off the 2011 shoe as I have much better images of that from various angles. I am limited to what we see in the film is I am to use screen caps from BTTF2. Due to allot of fast action, there are only select scenes that are really clear.

I can post some HD screen caps if it would help.
Go for it :) I can't take screen caps right off the disc on the PC due to some copy right protection the BD system has in place. So all I end up with using either print screen or the snip tool is a black rectangle.

I then took screen caps off the BD in my theatre, but the camera seems to want to focus on the centre which then tends to blur the sides.
