Hi y'all...

This is my first ever post--although I have long admired the talent of this community. I was so happy to see so much of it on display this weekend at Dragon Con here in ATL. Anyway, I was inspired a year ago by this post and wanted to attempt my own bucket for my son (who also is 4). Progress pics below.

I am still struggling with the smoothing process. The clay is Klean Klay regular and it finishes nice with a wet sponge--although I keep nicking it with a fingernail or tool. Anyway, it's all part of the process. Please let me know what you think!

Looks good. I've tried sculpting and it's difficult. I was not impressed with my results.

You probably already measured the top of jr's head to his eye line to make sure the top of the helmet is tall enough. Likewise deep enough so his nose is not smashed. It's pretty disappointing for them to not be able to see out the visor. I found this out the hard way with a helmet and had to do a lot of retrofitting.

Nicely done so far. Keep us posted.

Thanks y'all...

I actually did measure--although I am not sure I did it right. We'll see. Once there is padding inside, it might be a different fit. We'll see. I'll post some progress pics soon. If anyone has any advice on casting this bugger...
