After finishing several for my friends, I decided to make one of my own. I got the suitcase from Hobby Lobby. All the crosses are handmade by me as well as the stakes. I still have to age all of the bottles and find an appropriate gun to place in there as well.

Its easy for me to say I was thinking Fright Night now that you'de said that, but that IS the first movie I thought of when I saw your images. :)

Again - very nice work.

It could use some bottles of silver too

And maybe a small crossbow.

Or a small silver cross on a chain of some kind.

Im always want to learn new stuff, How do you do the ageing of the wood stakes and bottles :)

Well, the stakes are already aged. I am going to age the remaining crosses by using some brown briwax and some permanent marker in the nooks and crannies. I will age the bottles by stippling a light grey wash over the bottles and then using a matte clearcoat over that. I will use a light brown wash on the labels for each bottle. Garlic, Wolfsbane, and Wild Rose.

Kit looks great, but I spotted a bit of a problem. You have those beautiful wooden stakes, but nothing to really pound them in with! 3 crosses may be a bit overkill, why not convert one into a mallet?

If you want to turn one of the crosses into a mallet, I suggest bashing the ends in repeatedly so it looks used/worn (as if they have actually been pounding stakes)

That said, something like this:

With a few symbolic carvings, maybe a bit of leather wrapping the handle (nothing like fighting off legions of he undead only to end up with splinters in your hand!)

One thing to keep in mind is not just making the objects look old, but making them look used. Think of how repeated use chips/cracks/wears/stains/deforms an object, based on its intended use.

Keep up the good work!

Guess I forgot to add this picture. I did make a mallet for the kit. The earlier pictures were just the beginning of the kit.

The bottles are a boston round and can be found online. I happened upon them at a walmart in the craft/floral section but they do not carry them anymore for some reason.
