New UC Gandalf staff

Arrived today and MAN... First off, the box is huge. No sneaking this one into the house, boys. Extremely well packed, the inner box has a small amount of artwork, but not the full color of the LOtR stuff.
The staff? HEAVY! and one piece. The thing is a bludgeon, and quite lovely at that. The hanger is a step up too.

Oy - animals! It is truly lovely. The thing is miles beyond the white one. Even better, preordered with a coupon from Budk it came to $118 and change, delivered...

Oh, another neat thing - you can see the shape of the white staff within the head - as if the brown was burned away. Very nice touch that. I was hesitant at getting this, as the other staves left a lot to be desired imo. I place this one right up there with the Sauron helm and maybe the MC Glamdring. It's that good.

They are available in 2013 here... But I dont know... I like to have the LOTR staff, not the Hobbit staff, want to make a Gandalf costume for years now...

But if I will make the Hobbit version I have to buy the Gandalfs scarf, too... :lol

But I think, Hobbit staff is better than no staff...

As requested. I couldn't get a decent shot of the whole thing, so I tried for some details of the head. Yup - that's the G runes...

Got mine delivered last night, and I agree with everything that's been said. A great addition to the LOTR pieces from UC and a really great deal at the price, and it is frick'n huge!

How does the finish look in person? (trying to decide which version to get) I'm assuming that the colours are kinda influenced by the flash in the above shots?)

Indeed the flash affected it. I'm really picky about that - the white staff really put me off with it's dipped-in-white-paint look. It really looks quite natural, with a lot of shade subtleties.

Ordered mine yesterday...

Excited to see how it will look... But if one day a new FOTR staff will be released, I think I have to get this one and get rid of the hobbit staff.

Sure both staffs are cool, but I just have to remember the Moria scene with the balrog and I will know which staff is the king... :lol
