yeah... love the cheesy-ness of the "sleestak skull" from the show. Take a sleestak mask and paint it white with no eye lenses... I always KNEW the sleestak were thin skinned! LOL!!

I spoke with Marty Krofft personally in 2000 about the auction. He lamented the fact that there were LOTS of bids but that there were so many people who welched on paying!! As we sat in his office, he had a stack of original artwork from Pufnstuf and other shows that was just sitting there waiting for the payments. I don't know what ever happened to that stuff.

Marty was a great guy and very welcoming. He listened to me prattle on for at least a half hour about how much I loved their shows as a kid. Patient guy.

Wow! That's a great story. I was so bummed I missed the auction - I soooo wanted the Wonderbug miniture -- I wonder if it even sold

Marty was a great guy

(and is, as he and Sid are still kicking. ;) )

Reminds me: Back when Rosie O'Donnel had a talk show, she commented one day about her collectibles hobby, lamenting that she couldn't find an original Witchiepoo doll.

Marty (or Sid, I dunno) sent her one MIB, unbidden. Now that's a cool guy. :)

Absolutely correct! My apologies to the VERY MUCH STILL ALIVE AND WELL Marty Krofft an his brother Sid. My bad.

original stuff from the Sid and Marty auction

Ahh...there's that image from the Krofft auction that truly set my dream of creating a Sleestak Skull in motion.

I would have LOVED to be the owner of that original piece of artwork of the Sleestak. I hope it is in a well maintained collection.
