New Savi’s Lightsaber Designs for 2023

No it was from a vote to choose next legacy lightsaber in 2022.. hope they will made it !
That's right. That's the one that Cal won. Well they did end up making Qui Gonn's and his was not a winner from that same vote so who knows. I think it would have done better than the Pro Koon and Luminara lightsabers.

We should be seeing Kanan's soon. That is the winner from last vote.

Hey everyone, went to Galaxy's Edge for my anniversary last week and it was a blast! We both made lightsabers at Savi's and the experience was awesome.

Quick question for anyone about the lightsabers: I'd like to display the hilt sans blade, but if I look down into the hilt (a la Luke meme) without the blade in with the activation switch off, I can see the kyber crystal blinking. When you switch the activation button on, there's a "short circuit" noise, and the crystal appears to be off. Anyone know if it's actually not leeching power like this (even though this is where the blade would be ignited if it was inserted)? Just trying to avoid killing the power in the hilt prematurely.

It can and will drain the battery, I built my saber there about a month before the park officially opened and as of now my custom saber no long works. Though the hero sabers I bought from Dok all still work with a battery replacement but those are easy AA swaps from the pack.

Edit: After thinking on this it has made me take mine off the shelf and do some inspecting on the battery pack, if you pull it out and see the V cut on the side there is a tiny screw at the base of the V, taking that screw out will allow you to pull the bottom speaker part out along with a 3 slot AAA battery case allowing you to replace the batteries! Just dont mess with the 3 screws on top.

Yes, it drains the battery. Most people just pull the entire battery pack rather than removing each battery. Also, a lot of pepper also remove the crystal as not to consistently put pressure on the springs.

I lost the hang tag that came on the Savi's case over the course of the day in MGM Studios, so went searching for more details a few days ago. There's a PDF of the hangtag instructions that were filed as an FCC formality and it includes how to change the batteries:

Yes it’s strange but with the blade removed you have to keep the switch in the “ON” position to keep the batteries from draining.

Now that I have an Elemental Nature, I can try out some of my creature shop pommels. IMHO, they only look good on the EN style.

I wish they were a little smaller and had some sort of belt attachment but truth be told, I got them as display pieces. Currently I have the Bantha, Porg, Rancor, and Tooka Cat. Skipping the Wampa and owl for now. Still have not seen the Krayt Dragon, but I think that might be my favorite on the hilt.

I liked the way my paint wash mod came out on the Dewback sleeve, that I felt it needed to be done on the rest of the hilt to make the other organic elements look more realistic and give the metal an aged appearance. Most of this is just putting down a layer of water based black acrylic paint… the stuff you get for about $1 at the craft store.. and then quickly wiping it away. I did just brown on the bone elements. For the wood and leather, after the black application was done, I hit random areas of the areas with brown paint and dabbed the access off. This helped to create uneven and more natural surface appearance. Not sure if the pictures pick it up, but the results look great in person. My hope was not to make it look beat up but simply a working and used hilt that the leather looked like leather, the wood looked like wood, and so forth. I am quite happy.
