I have never heard of the fiberglass tissiue.........so gonna deff look in to that i have made fiberglass speaker boxx so i am a firm beliver in fiberglass resin u do like two or three layers of matt u can damn near stand on the stuff (not recomended lol) well not till after 5 or 6 layers. Damn u been makin stuff that long that is kick ass man. Was it just for personal projects or did u make them for movies??????? I would use the resin for streangth the bondo is to get the outside smooth i see people useing toooo much bondo on this and other sites. I would be afraid of it crackin. I want to bulid the backpack next but this wil be the biggest thing i have tried with pep.........do I need card stock??? i see peoples stuff and it has like no wrinkles in the parts that r are to be just flat in other words they look perfect.

Hell yea man, its good to talk to someone with as much intrest as i have in this dorky stuff lol well thats what my girl says.

Ya no problem as long as you take in to account the strenght of the card you used.... I normally use between 180 gms to 200gms card, any thicker will not go through my printer, if you are using light stuff , just brush on a light coat of resin first this will set it off then add another heavier coating to finish the job. Then you are ready for the fibreglassing stage. Fibreglass tissue is available over in here in the UK.... I get mine from Halfords car supplies, not sure about outside the UK, it must be available worldwide as it is to useful.

Got my first coat of resin on the cannon I feel good about it. You ever have the problem with the folds not contoure the way u want i know i did the vally and mountin folds right...

In the US, look for card stock, I think 110lb is what i've used. Office Depot is one of many places you can find it.

Hi there, not been on for a while.... come down with the flu bug.... still fighting it off now... Ya the some of the Predator armour items I unfolded are not designed for the unfolding process.... and I have had to try working around them. The basic rules in pepakura are if the line on a model shows as a solid red then that part in red is not attached to test of model, hence when it is unfolded red lines do not have numbered tabs add to the part. You can either add some manually or cut out some paper tabs to glue to two parts together..... it is easy to do, as I have just built the same part myself with no problems.... just just have to know when to adapt when you meet a red line item, red lines can sometime appear in the strangest places when you unfold a model you found online.... as 3d creators can cut corners in the VR world and the item still looks ok on the screen....but in the real world rules apply.

Once the flu has gone I will be getting back to the predator stuff myself

Sizes are to my scale, so should fit most people, I am 6 ft tall and around 16 stone (105kilos) so I am quite large, but as will all costume items both armour and fabric base, sometimes you have to adjust to fit. And don't forget, with predator stuff you also may have a body suit to fit it over. maybe a pain in ass but I do recommend test building in normal paper first and then go to card once you are happy.... it's worth it for that perfect fit..... even I have to do it that way. my aim here is to give you all as much predator costume parts as I can find and unfold.... been ill last few weeks hence things have slowed down... but I am back and will start uploading some more goodies again :p

May your prey die a good death

steve

How is the chest armor coming. What do we have to look forward in upcoming post.
I am test building the chest armour at the moment, I will upload it if I am happy with it and the scale is about right to attach the backpack to it, as the backpack is a part of the chest armour, had to break it into parts for easier assembly.

I am unfolding a wolf style bio helmet at the moment, there are a number of other items to do, another version chest armour, calve armour, shoulder armour, thigh armour, the disc and spear .... I am also going to start work unfolding a 1:1 scale predalien skull, I am also building stuff for my outfit.... plus some other projects to unfold for other forums and persons.... just completed a 1:1 cyberman helmet from the new Doctor who series...... so I have plenty to do :p I am also working on some witchking armour and helmet from the lord of the rings.

So plenty of stuff to come predator wise, ho!!! nearly forgot... need to make a start on gaunlets for predator as well....
