New NECA Freddy Vs Jason Mask at TRU

Does anyone know whay day(s) TRU typically restocks merchandise or recieves new merch? Looks like another 'toy hunt' for me....so frustrating!

it depends on the store / volume. I use to be a manager at one and we got two trucks a week. I didn't get to go by , but if they have them do you need one ? I can pick one up for you if needed ( depending if they have them(

I do enjoy the slimer/marshmellow man banks they have.

Wow, that's reaaaaalllly nice. Way better than the remake one. I prefer the shape immensely. I'd love one of these. Wish I lived by a TRU...I'm not making a 90 mile round trip just to find out they're out of stock!

Stopped by the one by me today. Didn't have any.:cry but my son got some mega blocks.:lol I guess someone found something.

Ok, here's the deal: my local TRU says not only are they out of stock, but they are discontinued and wont be getting any more. I called another TRU location in another county and they too were out of stock and wont be getting more.
Can anyone help me out? If someone here lives near a TRU that does have them in stock can we work out an arrangement for me to get one from you?
Let me know...now that I know its a tough find for me, I want it more!

Foiled again!
Anyone else?
Is this a new item and maybe they just have not come in yet in some stores? The manager at my TRU says they came out in the fall.

Still no luck. Three stores in my area don't have it, have never had it, and will prob never get it in.
I called the TRU customer service line and the lady was very nice but said that it is either a seasonal item and won't be released until Halloween, the item is discontinued so whatever stock was left was released to the sales regions where it would sell best (west coast) and that this may be typical for some items that are likely to sell in one store rather than another.
--edit-- OK, I just got one on Ebay. With shipping it is $36. I would have ended up paying somone an additional $10+shipping anyway to pick one up for me so I got the best deal I could find.

Okay Orlando Florida fans.... the Toys R' Us by the Florida Mall has 5 of them on the shelf as of tonight. I did grab one.... but the wife was with me and I couldn't grab more and explain that I intended to help some people out on the board here. She would have flipped since mortgage is due tomorrow, lol. But if i can score any this week over there, I will let everyone know.

I'm going to hit my TRU this weekend.

For those that have these... I see them for around $30 + shipping on eBay.

Are they cool enough to order one?

I've got a nice fiberglass hock now, but more can never hurt :)

It is not that great as far as quality.... it is a strong thick casting, but there are cheap straps and they are incorrectly placed....And the paint job, well, you can see it is a massed produced prop. But for $19.99 at the store, it is worth picking up. You could always do a repaint on it. I did hear it was cast from the original, so that makes a nice base to start with. A good paint job could transform it for sure.

I saw a few at the TRU down the street from where I work when I stopped in yesterday. I'll be going by there again over lunch today, and I might be able to pop in and see how many they have. Might have to pick one up.... it'd make a good cheap prop to hang on the wall. :thumbsup

Here is the email reply I got from NECA regarding this mask:
"We received your email regarding the Freddy vs Jason mask. TRU is the largest retailer carrying this item. They will be offering it in the next week or so on their website. Please keep checking back to purchase one.

You can also try finding it at one of our other authorized retailers:"

i went to TRU today to pick one up and they had 9 on the shelf but after looking at it up close i decided to pass. I like the one they had last year much better and i was lucky enough to get one so i didn't see the point in getting this mask. but if anyone would like me to grab one for you let me know and i will at cost +shipping. on the other hand while i was there they had a nice Freddy resin coin bank bust that i got for $15. so the trip was worth it.

I got that bank as well when I picked up my mask. The bank is decent, but the sculpt and painting of the face was a little strange. They could have been a little more on Model. But still, for $14.99, it was worth picking up.

Perhaps any TRU location that does not have it right now, may be getting it soon? In any case, I paid extra to get it off Ebay - it happens. I plan on adding some of my own paint details and designing a custom wall mount for it. I will post pics when that all comes together...

My local TRU had 6 today so I picked one up. I still have one of the original "new" Jason masks that came out last year. I really prefer THAT design better, especially after a very talented RPF member accurized it for me. Still, for 20.00, I picked up one of these new Freddy vs. Jason masks and it's very high quality. Both masks make a nice contast. I have an original Freddy glove and with the new ones coming out all pieces will make a great collection display.

I also snagged one of these at my local TRU yesterday; I like it. I don't LOVE it, but I like it.

I'm used to having hocks from Frightstuff (I've owned and finished about 6 blanks over the years), which I love. The only thing this has over the Frightstuff piece is the strength of the material. But for 20 bucks, you can't beat it if you want to play around with it a bit.

My store had 4 more, BTW. So keep your fingers crossed, those on the hunt.

:)
