Hey guys,

I thought I'd post some pics of one of my new saber projects.
Below is a cad drawing of a Mold that I will have printed on a rapid prototype machine. I will then have metal castings made from that mold. What do you think?

Input guys?

Curious why you would cast them in metal rather than machine them ?
Was the original cast or something ? ( not a saber buff )

Looks spot on to me. I already have one of Stormpath's, so unfortunately you're not going to be able to count on me for one in this run.

However, if you can tweek that emitter, and add a knurled cone knob, I would DEFINITELY buy a V2 blank from you....though I probably couldn't afford it until after the new year. X-mas season and a demilled Sterling has my wallet stretched to the limits.

Pardon me for butting in...

So this new project is based on the Shared Stunt Saber used in ROTJ?

I'd definitely be interested in this if it comes in at a reasonable price!

I already have the other two versions but there's something about this one I like better. More related to Obi-Wan's final saber and it doesn't have the "nipple" sticking out of the emitter.

Is this a thread for opinions on the cad (looks absolutely spot on to me!) or to gauge interest for a possible run you're doing? If so I'm interested :) Would definitley like to have a super accurate version, but it all depends on what my funds are like at the begining of the new year. What sort of time frame/costs are we looking at to get this project up and running? Would it be too much trouble to have a V2 option as well?

Yeah, I can't see the pictures, but I'd realllllllly be interested in a V2 if it could be done for a reasonable price. Painting a V2 blank is one of life's little joys... :)

Then maybe you can paint mine for me. I'm so sick of V2s after doing two runs I can't even bear to pick mine up to paint it; and its been two years since... :unsure:lol

Be careful with that notch found on what would be the brass portion of the grenade. I know MR added that to their V2, but then again they put a 'disc' on the emitter. I'm pretty sure that notch is merely a hand-lathed artifact of a not so perfect edge, not an intentional detail. Check out the high res photo of the shared stunt before it went to space:

No notch, just raised a bit from the paint layers.

Any chance of getting some seam lines on there... like the originals? :love

If you're talking about the groove on the "windvane" area between the copper and silver lip - there is definitely a groove there. It's not just paint.

Did you look at the link I posted above? I detect no groove on the shared stunt. Would there have been a difference between this and the V2?
