WELL FOUND....

Thanks for sharing. Check out that funky butterfly nut... or whatever it is. And the short grenade section.

it looks like the clamp was pushed up

am i the only one who sees that??

Not at all. The clamp is pushed forward, which makes the grenade section look shorter.
I think I also see the clamp lever pointing forward. Not tightened enough?

I believe the second pic is the high res scan. It won't get any better than that.
Unless you're asking for the whole pic.

Very interesting picture.

does anyone know how the blade was attached to the handle? i know there was a motor inside but the OD of the blade looks bigger than the neck of the saber?

the reason i was asking is i have a wooden master being made and i was going to cast it in metal and i need a idea on how much to drill out

The "blade" is square. It doesn't go into the saber at all.
Hard to say exactly how it's attached, but I would guess a round steel rod inside the square blade.
In the pic all we see is the emitter nub and the square dowel.
The nub might even be part of the motor protruding out and the motor shaft goes straight into the square dowel.

It's funny that the emitter nub was only there to serve a practical purpose on the ANH stunt and then several years later they copy the feature to the Luke ROTJ.

ya thats probally why they broke so many

thats probally wut they did with she shared stunt when they used it in ROTJ, a carbon rod with a steel rod inside that went into the saber

thats proballly wut they did with all the OT stunt sabers....probally were they got the idea from EP1 :p

but im just speculating

wut do u think?

I'm visiting a friend tomorrow who has a high-end scanner.
I'll do my best.

Howard.

Thanks Howard.. I wouldnt mind a high res of the entire pic and whatever else you think worthy :)

I'm not familiar with Total Film. Is this subscription online, or would there be any chance of finding it at Borders Books or Barnes & Noble?

Thanks for the pic Howard :thumbsup

Cool.. Thanks for posting the pic Howard. I love it when obscure, never seen before pics surface. Now if only some ESB Fett pics will surface :D

Steve

Sweet pic.

nwjedidave: I agree, the pic's bluriness gives the impression of the Ep. I/II Obi saber's pommel.

The dowel rod doesn't look square or even cornered IMO. Must be a resolution problem.

Is it just me, or does the paint job on this saber look MUCH different from the paint jobs on the Shared Stunt and V2 sabers we know today?
