NEW Hot Toys 1:6 Falconer figure

Anyone who wants to fix the Falcon and mask issue, SEND HT AN E-MAIL RIGHT NOW! Let those guys know this won't stand. It's a long shot, but they've listened to us in the past. With Berserker, they fixed the mandibles and armor too! Worth a try IMHO.

I think in this case there's nothing they can do. Like Sabres said:

Obviously they couldn't get approval from FOX or KNB to sculpt the face.

Well, if that's the case, then that's the case. But still, taking a minute might help. Dunno.

*shrugs shoulders*

see, i was afraid of this (non-removable) in that first pic we got of any "hot toys PREDATORS" preds the blank one that's turned around is falconer, you can tell by the top and jawline of the bio, but in that pic it does look like that mask is being sculpted right to the head...

oh well!! that is disappointing, but i know they would've if they could've. the figure looks amazing anyhow! thank you to all that posted the new pics!

EDIT: oh and did anyone notice ROYCE comes with the PREDATOR AXE!! feel a custom comin on.....

the idea of using the skull as the armature for an unmasked head sounds like a challenge i'll be up for! if i can get an extra HT predator skull.

but my feelings aren't too hurt by this undetachable thing. it's just annoying if fox did say "no! you cannot do that"

**** it!!! i'm sculpting a falcon right now i'll let yall know how it turns out :D

I guess I'm a little torn on the fact that he won't have a face. I mean the chopper and Celtic from AVP had faces even though they weren't revealed in the movie, so why can't these two? Also, I wish he had the falcon, I mean it is his name sake for pete's sake. I guess I''ll have to scrounge around ebay when the special addition comes out, or make one fron scratch. He does look fantastic though and I can't wait to see the Big Dog and what they plan on doing about the dogs...Maybe a two pack would be cool...

I'm waiting for Alter. Or better yet, Razor's Edge. More communicative and run by a guy on SSF. I already PO'd my Berserker from him, so it'd be cool for three new HT Preds to come my way at the same time from the same place and person.

As far as those bummed about the lack of a Falcon and face, I'm with you. I guess all you can do is buy from a website other than Sideshow (or BBTS for that matter) for the best price. My only fear is that Sideshow will have the Falcon as an exclusive, which will force us to pay the full 200 squids.

I was hoping for a removable helmet too. But the reason Hot Toys didn't make the helmet removable is because the wanted to make the figure just as it was in the movie.

I wish they would have included the falcon bird as an accessory. What a shame. My thinking is that I'll pre-order him now because I'm still going to buy this Predator removable helmet or no removable helmet and falcon or no falcon. I don't see HT making a SS exclusive with a removable helmet, but I think the falcon accessory is a possibility. If they do make a Falconer with the falcon I'll buy that one too and just sell the first one loose with the box.

Alter Ego and Razor's Edge have WAY lower prices than SS. Berserker was $20 cheaper at Alter. But when it comes to this figure, I'll wait for SS to get it, just in case they use the falcon as an exclusive. Don't rush into BBTS or any pre-orders just yet, guys.

Its not about being strictly accurate to whats in the film. We never see his face, I have displayed my preds with the bio on and off. Its just nice to have the option then not to.

That's a Berserker head under that bio. I looked and looked at the pitures, and notied the same fat facial quills coming out the side of the bio. From the side shot of him, it does not look like the bio was sculpted on the head. Maybe a little heat and prying that bio will come off and unmask our Falconeer. Maybe it's just my imagination running wild, but that would rock if I was right.

That is not true.

Hot Toys is known for sculpting Pred faces onto figures whose movie version never removed their mask.

Chopper - AVP
Celtic - AVP
Guardian (Gort) - P2

The reason they didn't sculpt it is, more than likely, they didn't get permission from FOX or KNB to sculpt a face for this particular Pred.

It's all about licensing. If they don't get the OK from the license holders...they can't do it.

Specs and pics...

I made my point based off of your contribution here. It seems the part I highlighted red and the part I underlined in bold was the excuse/reason Hot Toys went with for not getting the approval to sculpt a face. Well, that was my interpretation of this.

Obviously they couldn't get approval from FOX or KNB to sculpt the face.

Sucks wet sack, that's for sure.

So, maybe wanting to make this figure purely based off the image seen in the movie wasn't the "reason" Hot Toys didn't include a removable helmet and give us their rendition of Falconer's face with a head sculpt rather it was their excuse.

Because apparently, according to you, "The reason (there's that word again! haha) they didn't sculpt it is, more than likely, they didn't get permission from FOX or KNB to sculpt a face for this particular Pred."

So "more than likely" is just your experienced, educated, opinion on this subject? Rhetorical with no sarcasim. I don't mean to disrespect or lower the integrity of your insight by saying "it's just" your opinion... just getting it straight. Hope no one gets mad.
