NEW Hollywood Collectibles Groups 4 different stunt Aliens M41-A pulse rifles release

Re: NEW Hollywood Collectibles Groups 4 different stunt Aliens M41-A pulse rifles rel

I agree , there is no comparison for all the real steel hero versions , that I ....and some of you have built , Im just a collector , and for me ....I collect...not so worried about price, when I am intrigued to own something....its all about peoples personal preference and what they enjoy and love, the passion for props ....I for one , don't care , about price , I have 2 real steel PR's , its the fact , of having what you want ,as I said before , its not everybody's thing, when it comes to what they have or don't have a passion for when it comes to money....I personally am not concerned....I love the look , and regret never getting an HCG 1st generation PR....so this is the closet I will come to that one after missing the other run as I was buying real parts back then...couldn't afford both ....I would get all 4 , of them , if I could ...LOL

Your right. But the airsoft pulserifle has a better feeling like this resinprops in my eyes.It has some inaccurate areas. But this resin one is also not 100% screenaccurate with the real stunt version.

Re: NEW Hollywood Collectibles Groups 4 different stunt Aliens M41-A pulse rifles rel

I built my resin-based PR for around $500, granted I upgraded with some metal parts and a functioning grenade launcher pump handle.
Yeah you did , and it was top notch work and something to be extremely proud of , for anyone , to do and accomplish , what you have done with creativity and passion , that's why yours would be always the first , I would choose , and others as well....but its like that old saying , some people can only get what they can afford to get , without turning down an opportunity to own a stunt rifle , especially for people who adore cosplay and want something better then having to build one themselves....one painted and complete.....some people don't want to go thru the headache in building and painting....personally, I find enjoyment , in those endeavors myself....its fun and relaxing at times...but sometimes , its nice to slowly purchase something , that's prefinished for a lot of folks

Re: NEW Hollywood Collectibles Groups 4 different stunt Aliens M41-A pulse rifles rel

I have photos in my photo album , underneath me avatar picture , or it might be 4 albums , cant remember....I have several props hanging on display racks I built , for each prop , but my PR is sitting on a Black acrylic Aliens illuminated base , it weighs a ton , and I wouldn't dare , hang that sucker , on a wall....too much trouble , for something like that

But eeltee , I always loved your live fire version build my friend...that's some awesome stuff....mines completed deactivated and cant be made to fire , and my 2nd isn't built yet, but got most of all the parts...but it will be deactivated as well....I don't have that kind of money to spend for making it legal livefire version ...too much trouble for me...LOL

- - - Updated - - -

the display rack , you may be referring too , might be somebody else...my hero version PR stands alone...lol

Here is a pic of the shooter on the rack. I keep looking for a matching rack so I display another PR in another room. MyPR2015.jpg

I DO NOT think the $500.00 versions include the aluminum shrouds.

Paid for an HCG deluxe version just for the shrouds that were installed on my shooter.
Agreed no way possible, I dont think it would not even be classified a stunt then . It reminds me a little of the Icons that was made a while back
That was decent I think that might have been cast off an original they had. I always find myself pulling the trigger on the stunts and trying to get the parts to move lol .

Me as well. I just need to get some TM1 10/20 mags. The converted GI issue mags dont work. I even tried to reshape the mag catch hole......no bueno.

I know that belongs to a RPF member here, trying to think of is name....cant remember....but its a gorgeous rack.....I think that , might have been made by SD Studios along time ago....he made steel racks back in the day , and they were not cheap from what I understand....Im sure the RPF member that owns this will see the photo and pop in surely

Re: ALIENS Pulse Rifle (Hollywood Collectibles Group)

I have one of these on pre-order! Sooo excited!

Same here. I'm a little bummed that there's no moving parts (no rocket launcher cocking, no pulse firing), but it should make for a nice display piece and as a huge fan of the franchise, I'm fine with it and it's reasonably affordable too!

Just note that these are stunt versions based directly off a real screen used stunt rifle. Those had no moving parts and were lighter weight, so to maintain an accurate piece, that is exactly what was duplicated. We know there are screen accurate sticklers out there and we wanted to offer a screen accurate stunt version. The previous version released was based upon the hero prop and that is the one that had the electronics and functioning features. So ultimately, "accuracy" is the exact reason this has no moving parts :)

Alright, I have to be 'that guy' (I can't help it...:rolleyes). I fully get and also appreciate this item for what it is. However, playing the 'accuracy' card to explain away perceived shortcomings sounds like trying to have the cake and eat it too. If it were TRULY exact, it would be even more flawed!

The film's stunts all had barrel vents that were too far forward and actually were overhanging the grenade launcher. That is one of the 'tells' in recognizing them on screen.

So the HCG "stunt" design has indeed been altered (or more accurately, "Idealized") to look more like the various heroes. Not sure claiming supreme accuracy to address complaints is the best call.

Still very cool. I do plan to get one.

There is always one.

"I fully get and also appreciate this item for what it is. However, playing the 'accuracy' card to explain away perceived shortcomings sounds like trying to have the cake and eat it too."....

First of all, the "shortcomings" that were brought up was in questioning: "why there are no moving parts or electronics". There was no playing any cards of any type. I simply stated that to keep it accurate with the stunt rifle, we also made ours without moving parts. That was no lie or mince of words to disguise anything. You know we couldn't offer a "stunt version" and have moving parts, or people would cry inaccurate.

"If it were TRULY exact, it would be even more flawed! The film's stunts all had barrel vents that were too far forward and actually were overhanging the grenade launcher. That is one of the 'tells' in recognizing them on screen."

You are correct, there are many issues fixed on items because of the collectors out there. The collectors out there ask for screen accurate, yet also complain about details that are sloppy. We could take the actual stunt rifle, mold it and cast it EXACT, and we would get complaints about warping, flaws in the barrel, etc, etc.... So to justify offering something with a hefty price tag, we must walk that fine line between fixing some issues while leaving others alone, or flat out offer it "as is" and have some people call it trash. So there is clean up that takes place and in no way shape or form did I say there wasn't. That wasn't questioned so it was not addressed. All I stated was that "accuracy is the exact reason this has no moving parts".

Show me where I claimed "supreme accuracy"? I claimed that we didn't add moving parts for accuracy purposes, and that is it. You seem to be reading into my posts more than you should.

To be fair, I said "perceived shortcomings". To me that makes a huge difference. I am not the one complaining nor did I give those complaints from others legitimacy in this case. I have zero issues with the static nature of this item. My post was never about the item.

I took umbrage with what I believed to be the focal point of the explanation, not the execution of your product. Personally I've never questioned the need for a slightly idealized product.

However, while you didn't say "supreme", you clearly referenced differences between the versions and your goal to appease "accuracy sticklers". Does that not imply a goal toward the most accurate prop possible? That is how I took it, and it struck me as a bit of 'selective accuracy' which got me huffy when, I now admit, I probably shouldn't have been.

Overall you are probably right in that I read too much into your comments. I don't believe you are trying to mislead anyone and I'm sorry if that is how my gripe came across. I also appreciate your interaction here.

Just a head's up. I received a shipping notice this morning. Surprise, it's early! Not exactly Quarter 1. Great to have it early. Not great because I didn't account for the cash this holidays.
