New Goblin questions

I was wondering if one of you guys on here have tried to make a New Goblin costume, have any reference pics that they can post, or know of a site or book that has good reference pics. I was also wondering how to make a New Goblin mask or if anyone knows where to buy one, or has a link or can tell how to convert a paintball mask into a New Goblin mask.:lol
Any advice would be great.

seen one on ebay recently.
 
I have been working on a Harry mask on and off for a bit now. I'm nearly done sculpting bits of the mask on this plastic I bent into shape, I'm thinking about taking and old paintball mask and transfering those pieces onto the paintball mask to see how that looks. I'll probably have pics of this in a week or two..

LogansRunner are you going to sell or make templates out of the plastic pieces you made. If you do make them into templates i would love to get them.:rolleyes :lol

I'm not sure, I didnt use actual templates most of the stuff I drew right onto the plasic then sculpted over it, I suppose I could try and make some templates after I finish it but that wouldn't be for a couple of weeks probably.
 
What do you use to sculpt? I never really got the whole molding and sculpting processes.:unsure Please post pics.:)

Well, what I did was I bent plastic sheets into a basic shape of the mask and then sculpted onto that with plastic bondo, what I'm think of doing now is cutting it into sections and then transfering what I had done onto a paintball mask.
 
I could rough up some templates, but I don't have any reference pics. If I could get a good shot of each side, I could have template roughs in a couple of days. Plus I'm interested in making this one, too ;)
 
Thanks, right now it really isnt anything too special. My friend is giving me his old paintball mask tomorrow, so I think that I may be able to start building up on that with what I have as early as this weekend.:thumbsup :D

Ok, I got the paintball mask today. It is in ok shape, going to need some heavy modifying but I think it is a decent shape to build the mask off of. The only complaint I would have is that it is made from a "bendy" plastic and I dont know if I like that it bends so easily.. I would have preferred somthing more stiff but I will probably reinforce it when I modify it, which will probably be this weekend.

I got a lot of work done on the mask today, I basically shaped the whole front section of the mask, I still need to add the details like the vents on the sides though. I really only kept lthe middle section of the paintball mask where the nose bridges and I modified that with what I had to make it more accuate in shape. I'm also keeping the side portions of the mask that would cover the ear and allow for the goggles to attach to the mask that why I can reuse those and just make my own set of goggles because the ones I hae right now arent close enough in my opinion and I'm not sure they are worth modifying. I will try to post pictures of the mask maybe next weekend, that is when I hope to have everything done on this mask with the exception of painting it.
 
Curious to see the end of result of this project.
I would love to see someone do some of the other masks from the Goblin Lair done aswell. I liked the idea that Harry didn't just come up with the final one with out trying out some other designs.
 
I am thinking about buying a Vents Avatar paintball mask. I think this one looks good becaues of how the nose is not as bulky as others. If any of you guys see some morepaintball masks like the Avatar please post the name.:lol
