New Doctor Who Series Discussion *Spoilers*

Having 10 and 11 meet up does present us with some potential plot holes that would have been fine in classic but not nu-Who.

Makes more sense for 11 and Clara to meet a 10 and Rose of the past, rather than any crossing of universes.
Personally I'd rather have seen Donna returning, and I'm disappointed that we wont be getting 9, or 8.

Same here. Donna was a MUCH better companion!

My biggest problem with Rose: She keeps coming back. If they would have left her trapped in the alternate universe then I would have remembered the good times. As it stands now, all I can think about is her being a whiney <expletive deleted> (and Tennant's mopey-ness over her didn't help either!).

You know how people hate River Song? Take that and multiply it by a 100 and that's my feelings on Rose. Her time is (long) done - stop trying to return to the well! :angry

Yeah because Nu-Who is completely plot hole free. :facepalm Sometimes Who makes Lost look like it makes perfect sense.

I have always had a theory that only the current incarnation of the Doctor will remember the events that happen with a multi-Doctor interraction.

Let me explain, In the Three Doctor's, well, the three of them got together, they had an adventure, however, we never heard Two tell them, "Oh, I remember this event when I was #1." Likewise, Three never said, "Well, I remember when I was #1 AND #2."

I just think that when they all go back to their time-lines, only the current incarnation carries the memory of their meeting. So at the end of the Three Doctors, only #3. remembers the encounter, 1 and 2 do not.

Likewise in the Five Doctors, #5. would remember the last time this happened! (When HE was # 3. And if the 4th Doctor had been there, he too would have remembered the event)

But, when the other 4 Doctors get put back 'in place' only the 5th Doctor would remember what happened. The Fourth Doctor would still remember what happened when HE was # 3, but this current memory would be erased from his memory, as only # 5. would carry it... So on, such forth.

Oh, wait.... Time Crash! "You remember being me, watching you...."

Crap, just thought of that. Well, not gonna delete the post now that I've come so far on it! :lol

Don't forget that they are also based on British psychology: they may choose not to remember simply because it would be rude. ;)

Timecrash does not neccessarily violate the rules set up. The memories could only become accessible again by the current incarnation during the meeting.

Following his comments to Den Of Geek that he had not been asked to appear in the Doctor Who Anniversary special, Sylvester McCoy has now claimed that none of the pre-revival Doctors have been asked back to appear in the show.

The Seventh Doctor actor said: "The 20th century Doctors haven't heard anything. I don't know about the 21st century Doctors, but we from our century have not been asked to do it. We old Who-ers have not been asked to go along. All of us want to do it, just for the fans - because that's what they want. But we've heard nothing - Tom Baker's heard nothing, Colin Baker, Peter Davison, Paul McGann… none of us have heard anything."

However he did reveal that he plans to be part of the Doctor Who 50th Celebration Weekend convention, to be held at ExCeL in London over the anniversary weekend in late November.

"I believe the BBC are doing a very big London convention coming up," he said. "All being well, I'll be there."

Filming began on the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary special this week in South Wales. Matt Smith, Jenna-Louise Coleman, David Tennant, Billie Piper, Joanna Page and John Hurt have all been confirmed among the cast.

Wasn't Tom's participation announced a couple of months back?

This could all be part of some 'big surprise' that Moffat is planning.

Oh well.

In response to recent tabloid rumours that Christopher Eccleston had pulled out of the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary special just as it began filming, the BBC have now confirmed that Eccleston, who played the Ninth Doctor in the 2005 season, was never attached to the show.

An official source said:

"Chris met with Steven Moffat a couple of times to talk about Steven's plans for the Doctor Who 50th anniversary episode. After careful thought, Chris decided not to be in the episode. He wishes the team all the best."

On Saturday, the BBC confirmed that David Tennant and Billie Piper would be returning as the Tenth Doctor and Rose for the special episode which began filming in Wales this week. They join Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman with John Hurt and Joanna Page also confirmed as cast members. The episode, which will be shot in 3D, is expected to be screened (in 3D and 2D) on the day of the anniversary, Saturday 23rd November, and will also have a limited cinematic release.

I really want to call him a jerk for not doing it.....for the fans, but still, I love his Doctor so much that I can't seem to committ to calling him one!

Yeah, at least he talked to them. Actors gotta do right by themselves.

Strictly rumor here now but a little bird told me that they are subbing in another Doctor to play what would have been CE's part.

*please be McGann*

Would have been nice to have all three of the 'new-who' Docs together, as for 8? If it's true I hope he doesn't have that costume and giant sonic McGann's been showing off.

I'm taking rumors of another Doc being subbed pretty seriously. Since we know there WOULD have been at least three Doctors in the special the possibility of perhaps 8 being brought in is pretty high.
