New Doctor Who Series Discussion *Spoilers*

I'm really hoping the 50th anniversary episode/episodes encapsulates aspects of the whole 50years, not just what is current, I don't actually really want to see any of the newer companions back, rose, mickey and Jackie felt a bit forced last time they were around (journeys end?) I kinda hope it culminates in a regeneration too
 
I don't want him to regenerate yet. Give him a few more years. Unless we have to watch the next two years of him moping around crying for Amy. Then I trigger his regeneration myself! :lol

Agreed. Encapsulate the whole series!

I don't mind Smith though, he can hang on for a while if he likes. :)
 
Amy and Rory won't be back, their exit was final, as asked for by Karen herself.

I'd like to see Jack back, it's a shame that he was unavailable for "A Good Man Goes To War". Would have been nice but he was already filming Miracle Day.

I'd love to larger throw backs to the original run. Also, no regeneration yet. Give him two or three more years. We're getting through Doctor's far too fast.
 
I'm looking for a 'Whole Series" kind of celebration myself, but I see the BBC is doing a drama about the creation of the show. I can really see them trying to hold on to the flashy aspects of the NuWho for the series itself & use the drama as the "celebration" of the classic stuff.

As a side note, I was in Suncoast the other day, & they had a 16-month calender that was expressly for planning your DW 50th anniversary celebrations. It was put out by the BBC but I told my son, "Only the Beeb would give you a planning calender then give you nothing to put on it.".

Hopefully I'll be proven wrong.
 
Also, I really feel cheated this year. We got a five episode season. (Not counting the xmas not-so-special) instead of our thirteen.

I really hope the reason why is to stagger the remaining eight episodes next spring. Then take the BUDGET for the usual thirteen episodes for 2013 and make six to eight truly amazing 50th anniversary episodes that tie in from the junkyard in 1963 to the new Dalek companion! I could forgive them for short changing me if they did that.

Then back on to a FULL thirteen again in 2014!

The Xmas special is on, well, Xmas, and then 7 more are supposed to follow in jan or feb as I heard it.
 
I'm pretty sure next fall we'll have another 5 episodes, Christmas and then 7 in the beginning of the year. We are not getting short changed...just more Americanized mid season breaks...From what I gather
 
Ice Warriors? Underwater? Sea Devils on the other hand? :cool

I wish they'd return to the old format of 4x25 minute episodes to a story, gives you a chance to actually build some tension and develop characters, but I'm just old fashioned and thats ok :lol
