New Conan Poster - cooler than movie will ever be

I always though Sonny Landham from the original Predator movie could've pulled off the look with the right gear but much time has passed since then and now he's gotten quite a bit.....softer, than he was in the old days.

Actually he might have been able to. Is Rose whatever her name is in this as Red Sonya or someone else cause i know she was supposed to butcher that movie. At least Ron Pearlman is in it.

I had high hopes for this movie until I looked up the director on IMDB.
This is the first preemptively critical post about this movie I've seen that actually uses any sort of reason and logic behind the judgement.

:unsure

I'm sorry, but I don't understand how this poster has anything to do with Frank Frazetta. Frazetta was a true Artist who used, you know, paint. Frazetta did not hack his way through using Photoshop.

If you jinx this movie with that, I will hunt you down.

While I understand your point completely, the only connection between Conan and Frazetta is that Frazetta created what many consider to be the iconic Conan look in a few paintings. As has already been discussed, that look doesn't match Robert E. Howard's description of Conan in the novels, and Frazetta has no connection to the movie, so there's no reason for the poster to resemble anything Frazetta has done.

You're right; my apologies. I didn't read the article, I just looked at the poster--briefly (that's how unimpressed I was)--and came back to this thread.

Now that they've done a Frazetta-inspired poster, it remains to be be seen if they can actually produce a Howard-inspired film. I haven't heard near enough about it to decide if they're going the Arnie route or not.

My buddy worked on this film in Bulgaria and said that if the movie is anywhere near as cool as the fight sequences were in person then it will be good. He said he has hope for it, but you never know how things go in the editing booth.

I have stated on these forums several times in a few different topis that i dont mind sequels and reboots at all.

...But.....

I just cant see Conan played by anyone else other than Arnold. He IS Conan.

Jeff Bridges IS The Dude.
Humphry Bogart IS Rick Blaine.
Bill Murray IS Peter Venkman.
Harrison Ford IS Indiana Jones.
Robert Downey Jr. IS Tony Stark.

I will go see the movie, and probably even like it, but Arnold will always be Conan.
