Ok guys,
So I have my Batsuit built and I've been using it for two years for events and appearances, things like that. My wife for the most part as been my costume assistant and general helper. She has worn a robin dress, and a Catwoman halloween costume for a halloween party. However, she's expressed interest in getting more involved with our events and actually getting a real suit of her own, that isn't halloween costume type suit, and more replica suit. We attend cons together and it would be great for both of us to be able to go together in costume as well. So, I know she's not really interested in the skin tight type suits or catsuit look, but she's expressed interest in a Batgirl suit, she really loves the Babs Batgirl yellow and black suit. It pops and is a combination of utility and padded/armor suit. Here is my problem, I'd love to get this together for her, but I've been unable to find a good source for pieces for the suit. Men's suits there are like a trillion ways to do it or buy pieces that are already done. I'm not having the same luck with women's gear, however I may just not be looking in the right places. Would anyone out there be able to help me with gear, or point me in the right direction. Any female cosplayers that could help me out would be especially helpful. I've been able to find a decent Batgirl Urethane cowl, but beyond that.. not much else. I know we could get a batman belt, and do a little altering, and the boots will probably be decently easy, but the leaves me with basically the rest of the whole suit...

In any case, any help is appreciated, as you can see I'm a little lost for direction to start a build or buy something premade that can be special ordered to her size..

P.S. She also expressed interest in a female Robin suit if Batgirl wasn't going to be doable.. just fyi.

This is very doable. For the bodysuit, I buy all mine from www.riversedgedancewear.com You can get cotton lycra, nylon lycra, wet-look.. whatever. Personally, I use the Bal Togs cotton lycra mock turtleneck. For gloves, it really just depends on how you want it to look. You can order regular lycra opera gloves from ebay or make your own using regular gloves and make the gauntlets yourself. For the belt, I did a quick Google search and came up with a plethora of ideas for creating your own:

Also, there are several members here who have made this costume and searching for them will give you ideas as well.

But for the love of all that is holy, please, do NOT use a mass produced Rubies Batman belt of any sort or that canvas military belt so many use. They have become almost cliche.
Also, if you find a vendor you like, vet them before you buy.

Awesome! Thanks for these suggestions, definitely a decent amount to dig through and start our work.
