New BMF coming

WAHT!. I am pretty sure they were there in Paris...or? if not :(...but at least I will see the Falcon in the flesh...I wonder if it will look all grungy and old :)

UPDATE: At least the X-Wing was shown in Paris

I can't find any pics of the Tantive though, pity, I am sure it has been on display in the US. Maybe the Model was simply to big to transport :) Its HUGE!

The old Falcon has missing parts... I've compared pics from Ottawa and the US and some of them have fallen apart...

It needs an urgent restoration...

I'd love to see the real falcon. Seems to never been close to me when it's on tour! :( I'm sure alot of peices have fallen off. I don't think the creative department counted on this model lasting more then a couple years at max. Every time I see pics of the 5' footer, I notice that the hull panels on the starboard side seem to get more and more crunched up as time goes on. It almost looks as if they used thick alunium foil or a foil tape for the hull plates along the edge. I dunno... what do you think?

FZ6, does this mean you can access the MF 5-footer at the exhibit? The decal survey is looking for some clear close-ups of several of the decals that (should be) still present on the model so we're looking for an 'secret agent man' to get the images for us... if so, take a light to improve the resolution! ;^P

HI.

Not. I'm talking about the 32 incher. No 5 footer, no Tantive IV, no X-Wing... The SW Identities in EU is showing only the small 32". Sorry!

Maybe they can't transport the big kids over Europe...

:cry
Bummer! You're probably right - putting things on a boat or airplane might be too much for them to take (or the cost to make 'em safe!)

Someday, we'll just print out copies instead of shipping stuff... oh, yeah!

I say take as many photos of the 32" incher as you possibly can from every angle possible! Can never have too many reference pics of that beauty! Bring lots of batteries and extra memory cards and take at HD resolutions! :) You may photograph something no one else has! Especially focus on all the signatures on it... there's about 10 or 12 if I'm not mistaken (especially the one on the support for the radar dish if possible).

I will probably try to go to the Star Wars Identities on a weekday when there is less ppl around, will shoot as much as I can, for me the main focus will be the models/ships for sure.

Small update on the Falcon, applied pigments and some more weathering. Might have gone a bit heavy on the exhausts, was doing this yesterday eavning and the light condition was not the best maybe that's why.
I am still amazed that this is a toy. So much potential for lazy ppl like me that don't have the patience to scratch build something like this.

Oh well got a second Falcon will do it better the second time around :)

This was my reaction:

Son of a Bit@#.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!............Mother FU@&$) !!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:(:cry:angry:facepalm:behave:thumbsdown

I was afraid of this. It all looks freaking awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now you see why I was talking about his peices so much! And he didn't even get alot of them! The interior bits and bobs are what really sell it for me. And I think that one of our other members have done a much more accurate "tiny bunk" above the seating (with the bump in it, instead of smooth) that look awesome. He also did the wall on the side of the bunk, and the wall behind the nav computer. I think that Ian is doing two at the same time, one OOB and the other accurized to all bejezzus! He spotted the back wall to the side of the nav computer being opened with wires and tubes and stuff... looks awesome!

this is a great chance for more shots, some of the newer phone apps allow you to take a panorama shot by filming , if someone had this capability and walk around the models for reverse panorama , we would have the ultimate 360

What are you talking about,...it looks awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can add more to it of course but what you have done so far looks incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hell if you don't like it send it to me and I will send you my untouched one.

Thanks man! I guess I am a bit to self critic...like always. I guess it comes with what I do for a living :p.

Got a query, the Radar Dish graphics, 32" vs 5 footer Studio Model. Spot the difference..

32"

5 Footer

Is it correct that the Gray Graphics are different, or did I somehow got hold of some weird reference pics that are not correct?.

If you're talking about the smaller grey panel on the port side of the back of the dish? I seem to recall someone noting that on recent display, that the dish base has been rotated 180 (so what was facing aft is now facing forward), and the dish itself flipped over as a result.

Ha ha...no way, if thats true (and it for sure looks like that, flipped over 180 deg) it makes it a tad more complicated to get it right...now what is the correct position I wonder is it the 5 footer that displays the correct position of the disc or the 32" one :p

Judging from this screen cap its the 32" that is correct...or?

Dam...I guess I have to reglue the dish now :)

there was a large section of hull created for one of the films with enlarged dish, I believe this shot shows that , so this is neither 32" or 5 footer , someone can confirm
