New 52 Wonder Woman

So I haven't really seen a lot of Wonder Woman on the forum, let alone in cosplay, but I thought I would share what I did in preparation for Connecticon this year!
I don't have any WIP photos of the majority of the costume, but I have made a tutorial for the bracers which I fashioned out of Instamorph which you can find here: Bracer Tutorial - Wonder Woman

The finished product needs a little work - I made the corset a little tight which ended with it riding up a million different ways, and repeatedly tugging down on the gabardine left it frayed at the end of the day, and the breastplate needs to be thinner and a little more contoured, and I need to finish making the belt out of more instamorph (the leather substitute my boyfriend kindly fashioned for me isn't as sturdy and doesn't quite have the curve I wanted).
I promise this isn't a plug for moldable plastic but I do recommend using it, the end products are sturdy and lightweight and once you get the hang of it, the plastic is easy to work with.

Nice job, and nice tutorial! Wondy was my first superhero, and still remains a favorite. Always fantastic to see someone do her justice! (Pardon the pun...)

Thanks guys! I'm determined to get a better fit on that bodice, and hopefully use a fabric that shows the detail in the stitching a lot better. I'll post pictures as work gets done, I've already decided to get back to making a better pattern starting tomorrow

So I'll have pictures on here soon to show how I went about making the pattern for the rather unique angled stripes on the New 52 bodice - not that you can see them in the photos from before, the gabardine lost a lot of that detail because of how flimsy that particular fabric turned out to be. Hopefully by using a sturdier cotton duck for not only the liner but also the outside layer the detail will be easier to see, including the stars on the sides that will just be stitched into the fabric. However, for now I'll share the original pattern I used to make both the lining and the bodice for the Terry Dodson version! I originally got the pattern from an Etsy shop, and you can find the product here; SEWING PATTERN Wonderous woman warrior princess by hollymessinger
I don't have a lot of very good pictures of the bodice itself, but you can see most of it here:

Initially I had put boning throughout the top but eventually removed it all for a smoother fit which was preferable for me.

Also, for any other DC cosplayers keep in mnd that the Infinite Crisis cosplay thing ends tomorrow! I also entered using the picture I'm using as an avatar, though I wish I'd chosen another more professional image haha

Nice find on the pattern -- never know what you'll find on Etsy! =)

For your second attempt, have you thought about adding a layer heavier interfacing between the layers? Stabilizer in key areas might even work. Either one should help give the dimension you want so that the decorative stitching will show through. Or, you could also use a slightly different color thread -- in the same color range, but maybe a shade or two darker -- which will draw attention as well.

Looking forward to seeing v2 whenever ya get there!

I'm working on the Lynda Carter version and I read there was boning on the back of the panties. Same as the bodice plus a built-in bra so everything stays in place
