Netflix: The Electric State

I watched it today. I like science fiction in all its forms, so I liked this as well. I believe robots are without souls, so if the movie was "soulless", it was an accurate portrayal. Whenever a critic ever gives a science fiction movie a good review I expect it to contain some "social reengineering" message which I will not want to hear.

I thought it was a kind of "likable" movie until I got about three quarters way through it and decided to stop and just watch something else more likable. :D

i thought i was 1 of the few who liked this, but i really liked it, i havent seen the source material its based on yet,
i viewed as an alternate universe 1990s and an almost satire look on the state of society today,
like those vr headsets and people glued to thier phones today,
and ai that will eventually run amok
and corporations that do shady stuff

i really cant understand the intense hate, i guess a lot of it is based on the large budget, and the expectations on the content
i think that is undeserved, as ive have seen alot of bad big budget projects that havent had this much criticism
yes the overall story feels rushed and even i could have polished the script better, but its not bad

i think it would of worked better if it had been made as a more darker series, maybe 5-6 eps, as there is lots more i wanted to see
but with a more serious darker tone

but overall i found this good, and i will be watching it again,

I really liked it and loved all the diff. robots.
I also don't understand the hate, its fun to watch.

Will def watch again, just to see all the details I missed the first time around :)

I really couldn't get into it. I do have to admit that I'm not much of a MBB fan to begin with. And CP just seemed to be playing a slightly different version of his other blockbuster characters.

That said, I think I would have loved it if I were 12, or still had the ability to see it through those eyes.

This. I really thought it was a movie for kids. They didn't need the 'stars' that were in it, because I don't think they added any value.

Chris Pratt is super over rated and Tucci and Gus just walked through it all. There's something about MBB that is blah.

I didn't hate it, but definitely a kids movie.

As a big, big fan of Simon Stalenhag, I knew the movie would be different from his work when the cast was announced. But I also know his work is difficult to adapt because it's just pure melancholy atmospherics. So I just went into the film with an open mind, knowing it was not going to be at all like the book, and I enjoyed it for what it was. I love robot movies and this was a pretty good robot movie. It's so different from the book that it's easy to not even think of it as an adaptation. They really just took a few images and ideas from the book and then did wholly different things, and the story has a wholly different tone than the source material. I agree with folks saying Pratt's character didn't need to be in the story, and the story may have been better for it.

I watched it last night without any knowledge of the source material, and I think that helped me enjoy it for what it is. Its is an absolutely gorgeous light-weight sci fi move for younger fans. Grab some popcorn and pre-teens in your life and enjoy a cool robot movie!

I liked it. I love Chris Pratt, but he needs to do something other than being Chris Pratt, but I liked it.

It could have used some trimming. Too long, but it was a fun movie. Good anti screen time message.

What I don't understand is the hate for this film. As far as I now neither star is disliked like Zegler. If you don't like it you don't like it, but dang there is hate and cheer leading for this film to fail.

Plus I would love it if people would stop being so naïve.

They did not spend over 300 million on this or the insane amount they claim for Andor, Acolyte, etc..

Anyway nothing to watch over and over, but a fun movie.

Watched this last night, I loved everything about it

Just a fun movie to watch

It reminded me a lot of 2001 A.I. “artificial intelligence” by Steven Spielberg

I really enjoyed that movie too
