Hey guys,

It's been awhile since I posted on here, I post most stuff on my prop page on Facebook or on instagram. I figured I'd share one of my latest projects with you guys here.

I've used the limited screen grabs I could get off Netflix and have 3D modeled the Daredevil cowl to the best of my ability, it's far from "perfect" but I'm happy with it.

Yes, I know certain parts are fabric, but I plan on texturing those sections post print, so when I mold the whole thing, I can fake those sections when I cast the final in urethane. I'll then ink and black wash the various sections to give them depth, color differentiation, etc.

Here's the final render in a few various angles, etc. :)

Thanks guys!

No, files won't be free. Not selling the files... As I stated, this will be printed, which has been sent off already. :) Once I receive, I'll extensively clean, and them mold for urethane castings in the future. :)

files will be free?

Essentially all your posts are asking for free files. Stop.

You tell him!

This is really nice work.
Would it be possible to see a screenshot of the model on the virtual platform in whatever software you'll be using to print? I'm interested in how it will be sliced, supports, that kind of thing.

I'm not printing this on an FDM printer. Even though the company I work for makes and manufactures our own. Just like my Marvel Now cap helm this print is being printed on an SLS machine at shapeways. I even block out the eyes, mouth, and build in a stand to make molding post-cleanup a breeze! ;) just wait and see. :)

ooh fancy!

Is that the same way you did your Marvel Now Captain America helmet?

Raw print arrived. Lots of cleanup and texturing ahead of me. And for those that don't understand, the mouth, eyes and the flange all around the bottom are to aid me in molding later on after cleanup.

OMG.jpg

Totally gorgeous even raw. All I can say is, OK, well, my work is cut out for me now...

Beautiful work! Do you mind if I ask how much it cost to print at Shapeways? Curious to how they compare for a print of that size.

Re: Netflix Daredevil Cowl Helmet - 3D Model - Printing and Molding Soon

Finally got around to starting the clean up process. This is about a couple of hours into it. Getting there. Going to get the entire thing nice and silky smooth, then I'll apply the texture to the portions that need it, then she'll be primed further, sealed and molded. :)
