Great catch! Didn't see that video. According to prop master, they did it from scratch using Sanyo buttons.

It looks like they used the case, at least the front part. The big button stayed in the same place and they cut a new slot for the moved rewind/fast forward buttons.

Let me prepare the model top canvas and I will get you back to ask for at least two measurements from bigger button. I don't think they used the chassis, they only stripped the buttons, and maybe some other piece. Sure the whole case was inspired by Sanyo MG12, which as a side note, was the player prop master used to used when he was a child. Planning to mold the whole thing, with the possibility to install real buttons as well modelled. About the interior, pretty sure they installed an IPhone or similar to display the images. Piece of cake.

I estimated from a photo you posted that large button is about 2.106 inches long. Is that correct? or 5.35mm.

EDIT: About thickness, I estimated 8.1mm for the bigger one and 5.5mm for the smaller one. Would you mind to correct this estimations?

The big button is 48.5mm x 7mm. The rewind/fast forward buttons are 16mm x 5mm.

Nice! Honestly, I’d just prefer a full 3-D print over attempting to cobble this together with vintage electronics pieces. Something in two pieces we could slide a cheap Fire tablet into would be even better!

I don’t have a PC at home, so apologies for all the bad tv shots…

Anyway, here’s the cover. I know we have a bolt of leather that looks JUST like this as well as many others to choose from. I’ll take pics tomorrow and post them to get a consensus on which is closest.

this is what I found. I like the front of the first pic, but the reverse side is too light. Second pic is perfect on the back, but too dark front side.
