Need your opinions on T2 ful scalel statue build

Hi all , I have one of Joes busts being built as we speak and I want to buy a manniquin and do a full statue . I think the bust is called a T2 stage 5 battle damaged ? Sorry as I'm not to good at the terminator terminology yet lol.
Anyways I was hoping in the future that Joe builds and offers a leg joint area and chest plate for sale , and I was debating to buy one of those endo arms you see for sale on eBay that I think they copied off of HCG .
The battle damaged arm is the left arm I believe in the movie and his right arm is still intact , but the re pop is the right arm , at least I think it is?
I'm wondering if I removed the hand and made it look damaged (rods only) if it would matter which side it was on the statue?
Or just leave the Endo arm intact and use it on the right side as the face is damaged on the right side also.Just add some blood to it etc .
Also I'm not liking the leather pants and would prefer to use the brown pants . I'm liking how the knee area is exposed but I'm not sure how it would turn out with torn pants as opposed to the leather ones that I think is correct .

Any opinions on how you guys would proceed and have it look would be much appreciated.
This is the bust I will be using

Nice work. I'd happily add that to my collection.

I think doing a full statue would be killer , just not sure how much battle damage I want to do on the statue . Was thinking that seeing as the right Endo forearm /arm is available , that I could do the Endo arm exposed and have the other hand with a black glove on it with no damage holding a gun . It wouldnt be screen accurate as the damaged exposed Endo arm is pretty messed up in the movie wih no fingers and its the left arm , and my only choice is to do the right arm in an Endo skeloton . I could remove the hand and have just the broken rods coming out of the jacket and that way I could swap it to the left arm of I had to , but I think it would be cool seeing the hand ?

one thing that bothers me is I'm going to have to destroy a $800 leather jacket lol , as the forearm area is destroyed

About the jackets, I thought you could get these for much less like around $300. Given that you will "damage" it anyway, do you actually need the $800 jacket?

I was given a "Brando" for my birthday this year and it has epaulets and lacks the laced vents at the sides. I do wonder how difficult it would be to mod this.

If you watch the new Genesis trailer, it shows a T-800 Terminator with a fully exposed right arm.

Well $300 would be great if it's possible . I'll have to find out which jacket he's wearing .

As far as I know, the jacket is the same style in both films. He wears it zipped and belted in the first film and open in the 2nd.

This is probably the $800 version of the jacket, but google Terminator Jacket and you will find a few different versions.

Nice bust!. Leave it as is. ...Display the bust next to a 1/4 or 1/3 scale Terminator statue :p

I agree. If this was mine, I would display it as just the bust.

ok searching ebay there's lots of options . I had no idea there would be this many options to buy a jacket .

I'm thinking a double X would the right size or maybe even a tripleX?

That's the $300 Sideshow's T1 jacket from 2009. And there are loads of minor (pocket placement etc) differences between the T1 and T2 jacket. They were made by the same Company for both films.

In T2, it is the left arm that is torn off below the elbow.

All you need from the kits would be the elbow cup and the rods, which are not really right / left specific. Considering how damaged and bloody you can make it, you could even scratch-build it out of large diameter PVC pipe.

What is a "Joe's bust"...?

He helped me out a lot.

Joe is the builder from Cali, aka Godaiking . Here's the link at the SSC forum where I met Joe .

G'day Rainman,

I put up a thread on one of the lifesize T2 Stage 5 statues that I built. Check it out here;

To answer some of your question;

1. You can use any generic mannequin that has a pretty good, straight stance. Don't worry about muscle mannequins. I always build up my skinny mannequins to Arnie's dimensions using carpet underlay and tape. Forget the bendable arm mannequins. Just cut the arm off and use timber and screws to re-position it to whatever suits you. To make it hold a gun you just need to use a heatgun to heat the hand/fingers to make it soft and repositionalbe. Wrap it around the gun and cool it so that it stays in that position.

2. You can hit up Dblank on these forums for the knee and chest. You will need to paint them yourself as he only sells raw ones.

3. I always use those Ebay resin endo arm kits and just modify it to look busted up. I also use some extra metal pipes and stuff to make it look more screen accurate. The fingers you can use for his damaged hand holding the gun.

4. The pants and Jacket I buy locally here in Australia. The perfect size is 2XL. I cant find the same place I got mine from but this one is the same;

I tried buying the really cheap leather option initially but it looks bad when you sand it back to weather. Spend a little extra on the higher grade leather and it will look heaps better.

Let me know if you need any other tips.

Cheers

Thanks for the heads up Pat . I will post items for you guys to critique before I purchace them . This will probably save me a lot of future headaches .
These generic resin re pop Endo arms that you can buy on eBay , they say at the bottom that they may be bent , holes etc . Just how bad are they as I'd like to do an undamaged endo hand/ forearm . I don't mind filling and sanding badly cast parts , but within reason lol

I always found those Ebay endo arm kits to be pretty clean. The most work you will need to do is on the fingers as they need a bit of cleaning up but otherwise pretty good.

If you're still looking for a jacket, i found the "Unik" brand of leather jackets that look close (though I cant tell they have the side laces) and most are under $100

Thanks Pat , sorry I forgot to ask if the fingers are posable , or stuck in one position?

No......they are stuck in position.
Shame :(

Now I need to buy a cnc mill and make my own lol. I really wish I would have become a machinest when I grew up as it would have made for an invaluable trade to have considering my hobbies
