Here are a couple from the episode "The Apple" if I'm not mistaken:

Here is one I picked up on ebay a few months ago. I believe it is one of PhaserOnStun's builds.

I will post a comparison of the Playmates and PhaserOnStun's build tomorrow.

yep i am playing with a Playmates now. :)

it is larger and a lot longer. :thumbsdown

for an example, it big enough to use two AAA bateries in the black section.

i was wondwering about using the soundboard in a correct size model. :p

its sad that someone has not made a static kit to sell .. :angel

Here is a comparison between what looks to me like an exact replica and Playmates scanner.

here is a pic of my prototype i built this week. :)

the is a rough test piece with a smooth body so far.

i scaled it from the pick of the Playmates next to the correct size.

i did get all the electronics from the playmate scanner inside. :D

i had to go to 3 button batteries at 4.5 volts to have the ampherage of the original 2 aaa's at 3 volts.
also a 1" speaker in the bottom.

but it all fit :p

and sounds loud.

i have three flashing diodes i am going to add to the acrylic part for flashies since the motor idea is on hold till i find one small enough.

Cute. That almost looks like a 35mm film canister.

Jay

p.s. What is the transparent top? Do you remember sending me a section of a transparent crystal/glass tube for use in a 'V' pistol I was building at the time? If you still have some, that stuff looks really amazing when lit. It might make an acceptable alternative to a spinning inner tube.

Hey nice work John. :D

Scuttlebutt says that the clear top part, is an old prescription pill bottle. The grip is (or is a casting of) a screwdriver grip (in rubber).

Here's an old old kit I picked up years back, once sold by New Eye Studio...

It's the one in pieces... the built one in that shot is my HMS from Rodd.com.

that one is to test parts fit.

this is the untrimmed body i will put the parts into.

i covered it with thin leatherette {sp} to copy the tric covering look.

i am waitting to check my sizess before cutting it.

Jay,
great idea . i could put the smaller quartz tube in the acrylic tube and the blinkys inside that.

the colors should look great. :thumbsup

i made a funny discovery while reworking my scanner. :angel

the picture of a kit below was sent to me for reference. i dont know the maker.

whats funny is that the soundboard in it looks like the one out of the Playmates scanner. :p

wonder how many were scavaged for their boards. like the Playmates Phasers. :lol
