Wow, the Klingons were more advanced than we thought! Who knew that they knew about the World Wide Web and image hotlinking! :lol

Here's the symbol in question, the original Klingon logo seen during the Klingons' first couple appearances in the Original Series:

And here it is on the communicator in question:

That screenshot is low res enough that it seems as if it came from either a VHS tape, or at best, a DVD. If someone can find that scene on the Blu-Ray release of the episode and give us a 1080p screen shot of it, I'll bet we'd be able to make it out even more clearly. :cool:thumbsup

Even the weapons mounted on the ships, were called "disruptors". Whether the term "sonic distruptor" is used in the scripts or only in background material such as "the Making of Star Trek", I can't remember. The Eminian weapons were repeatedly called disruptors in "Taste of Armageddon".

Edit: I stand corrected! :lol According to the scripts at "Star Trek Sickbay", weapons (the sound effect of them anyway) are called "Klingon phasers" in "Errand of Mercy"! :eek

So I guess the term "sonic disruptor" comes from background material after all.

k

If "Errand Of Mercy" is the one with the Organians, then that is the main episode that I am thinking of. There is the scene where the Klingons are executing the Orgainians, and either Kirk, or Spock exclaims, Klingon phasers! Although I do believe that the ship's batterys were called disruptors.

The confusion could be because the Klingon phasers were redresses of the Eminian sonic pistols, I believe that they even used the same sound effect for both weapons.

WOW! :eek Look at all these juicy tidbits.

Excellent. Gives me hope that someday the elusive interior pics will someday surface.

Isn't there a quick glimpse of the inside of that thing in Elaan of Troyius? I thought I remember Kirk flipping it open and you can see the inside for a second (May need HiDef caps to see it good enough to make out the detail though)..

I have seen many fan replicas in gold gold color, but to me, they always looked like that antique brownish gold, almost like a copper. Anyone else want to chime in on color?
