Need help with Hit Girl and Big Daddy Costumes

Hey all,

For those who don't remember me, I'm Jeremy, former co-owner of Xtreme Design FX. I hardly ever post as I am in nursing school, finishing "hell-semester" and I just don't have time to post, let alone think of costuming. The end of the semester is fast approaching and with the release of the movie Kick Ass aproaching soon, it got me thinking of my costuming roots, and the fact that I'll have some time this Summer to work on a costume. So, I am thinking of doing a Big Daddy costume for myself, and Hit Girl for my 4 year old superhero-freak daughter, Jenna. (She won't watch the movie, but she's sold on the costume). I am not sure if I'll get to Dragon Con this year, and if we do it will be only for a day, but it would be fun for her and I to dress up during Halloween.

Anyway, I can tackle most of the Big Daddy costume, but the Hit Girl costume...well, I need some help. I need to pull together the jacket, gloves, pants, skirt, well, pretty much most of it. Any leads would be greatly helpful!

wow, has it been 4 years? I've seen jackets of similar material at Dot's, but not in kid's sizes and no pants. I did see something similar at Walmart's, but this was all last fall.
the tartan looks like it has purple AND pink in it. in a pinch the modern Cooper family modern pattern might work.

The jacket is supposedly a BMX/Bike jacket for kids, as stated in the Making of Kick Ass book that Mark millar put out a month or so ago.

In an interview with Chloe Moretz, she said the skirt was Matthew Vaughn's family tartan, if that's to be believed. Looking at the Drummond (his birth father's name) and Seton (mother's name is Ceaton), nothing is remotely close. None have purple, like the movie. It might be possible that they over dyed a "Drummond Grey" tartan.
