Need help with Captain Harlock's Skull Sabre

Well I always wanted the skull sabre so I decided to make one but I need help with the handle section. I can't find pics or drawings of the handle, I have seen the guard that comes around the skull to the back end of the handle. Any references would help me alot...this is what I have so far...

Thinking of switching the barrel tip to a grooved one.
