Need help on Folding Axe Prop

I'm making a prop to go with some armor I'm made. It's modeled after the Gerber Kick Axe that was never released. The only problem is I don't know how everything locks into place. I have a decent idea on how the blade locks but I can't figure out the handle. Can anyone give me some though? Here are the pictures if it helps:

OK - puzzle challenge! I had to figure this out. It appears the key is the top part bends backward a bit to unlock the hook at the middle of the handle.
