Need help identifying prop part...

Does anyone have any idea what the top of these are made from? I'm talking about the round top lids of the barrels. They appear to have straps going down the sides, and some sort of knob on the top, but I'm going to assume those are things that were added. At first I thought BBQ lid, but then it looks to be a different shape slightly. Then I thought Saucer Sled, but haven't found any that are really close. And the one that was was about 4-5 inches too big. The bbq lid was spot on size wise at 22.5 inches, but it doesn't look round enough.

Anyone have any clue what they are?

The 'straps' look like wide masking tape.

They look like the covers for window wells.

like that but round, then the 2 halves taped together.

first thing that comes to mind when I see this is the top of a large drink holder like they would use in a concession stand. But even then I think the tops of those are a bit taller where as these seem more shallow

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about the tape. Thanks for the tip about the window thingee, I'll do some searching about it.

How big are those supposed to be? it almost looks like a close up of a model.

The lower part of the lip looks suspiciously similer to a cup lid.

Well, the barrels I have are 22.5 across, which is the same as a BBQ lid. Most 55 gal barrels are about this size across, so I'm gonna guess that's what most them are.

I was thinking it looked a lot like the lids to those pickle barrels they have at delis.

I can't find anything. Searched for a while under pickle barrel lids, pickle barrels, etc...

Those are cool though, looks like the ones used in Phantasm for the dwarfs.

The other thing it looks like is some sort of light fixture cover. But I'd still put money on it being designed for barrels...escpecially the wooden-look ones they have in delis.

I think I may be getting closer to what my pickle barrel lids are called. Try looking for "clear sample domes" here's a sample dome: Cal Mil 311-18 Gourmet Sample / Pastry Tray Cover 18"

It just needs to be slightly shallower.

Have you look in to maybe dryer or washer lid?

I contacted the maker of the original barrels and unfortunately he couldn't remember what he used for the lids. I still can't find anything. Anyone have any other ideas? I've checked up on all the ones listed above so far. They would have a 23'' diameter.

Try looking at pool filter lids, some are dome topped and the domes are clear. The size should be right as well.

I'd try for barrel ice cooler lids like this too:
Ice Hawk 5005 Round Barrel Beverage Cooler Replacement Dome Lid

was probably a custom job for coolers like that I'd bet if they are clear..
