Need help; finding/making a dish

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone knows where I can get a 1m diameter hemispherical dish with a depth of .5m close to Brisbane, Australia? Don't want to pay shipping on something that big :lol

I'd like it to be in plastic, but any material would be fine. If not, does anyone know the easiest way to fabricate one?

On second thought, would it be possible to make a pepakura pattern and make the dish out of fiberglass? Might be the easier alternative, but I know nothing on modelling (really hard model this:lol) pepakura or fiberglassing. But if it's possible, I'll do it!

I don't know what kind of money you have,but there are a few sites that can make something like this for you. Why not try to get someone to make this for you,then have them laser cut it to exacting demensions,but in quaters to save on shipping. Otherwise,I can't help you without sending you to a site where you'll be able to get this as a whole piece,but have pay for shipping. Everyone will charge some type of shipping cost. Have you tried ebay?

Yeah, the only stuff that comes up atm is a 2m satellite dish, and I'll still need to do some traveling to pick it up. Hence why I thought it might be cheaper to build it myself. If I did it in Pepakura, only have to pay for a few sheets of paper, fiberglass stuff and some paint. Might be a touch more expensive than I think, but I'm willing to wager it'd be cheaper than the shipping fees on something like this.
