I'm trying to approximate the clear acrylic head from Girl in the Fireplace, Doctor Who, clockwork men:
whose photo actually comes from an rpf thread from a long time ago.
I have been trying to use two acrylic hemispheres (60 gauge) of different diameters: bend them into oval shapes. My kitchen oven is gas, so I can't use it, and I haven't tried the toaster oven. A heat gun causes inconsistent and spotty heat, giving me warped plastic. I don't have a thermoforming machine.
It doesn't need to be exact, but it needs to be passably similar. How would you guys do this?
