National Treasure Meerschaum Pipe!!!

Well you heard me... After what seemed like years, I have finally finished the pipe. After finding time after the new baby in our family and a failed attempt to do the scroll by hand, I figured out a way to get it laser engraved instead. As you notice in the pics, it's a rubber stamp I had custom engraved and just glued it around a sculpted scroll. Now, all I have to do now is, make a clean mold off this thing and we're in business. Don't ask me how long that will take, but I'll make it a point to get in done asap. It will be posted in the Junkyard as soon as I'm done with all of that.
Until then, enjoy the pics.

Just a little (much anticipated) update. 12/13/06

I know I'm going at a snail's pace hear, but hey, I have three kids begging for attention, and I don't like to disappoint and they don't like to be disappointed. Plus, I've been busy trying to finish their treehouse before it get's too freakin' cold to work on it.

Anyways, I have finished the molds and will be doing a cast within the next week or so and hope to have something to show you in the next couple of weeks. Although, I may have to recast the scroll stem part after I do a little fine-tuning on the first cast to make it perfectly functional.

Before I do another mold for the scroll, I will complete a pipe to show you guys anyways. This way you all can see what the finished pipe will look like and at that time probably start an interest thread in the Junkyard.

Those who have already pm'd me with interest, I still have your contact info and will contact you when I have moved this to the Junkyard.

Thanks for your patience,
Brenton

OH my~~~.

Even though I'm not a fan of that movie but still...

Is there a list somewhere I can sign up?

Just send me a PM and I"ll let you know when I've posted an interest list in the Junkyard. Right now, this is strictly just a show-off thread.

Thanks,
Brenton

Great work Brenton.

I finally caught the flick about a month ago and was really impressed with how many twists and turns it took.

A great ending and I'm glad the pipe wasn't used in just the first 15 minutes.

That looks superb. I can't even imagine how much time went into this piece of art. Please shoot me a pm when you're ready.

Great work. Looking forward to getting this one in the collection.
I also missed the movie in the theatres. Finally caugght it on DVD and really enjoyed it. Happy to hear they are in the midst of making National Treasure 2 now with all the original cast coming back.

Very Nice. So what does the stem say if an "ink" is applied to it and rolled out? Does it match what it shows in the movie or something else?

The scroll matches exactly as it is in the movie when ink is applied to it. As you may notice, after I do the first cast of the scroll, I'm going to have to sand down the squigly line areas, so the lettering is raised. I'll then recast it so it will hopefully be close to 100% accurate.

Wow..... Congrats on finishing a fine piece....that's even more amazing with a new Bubby around the house...

I would be interested...If I had any money LOL
