Interest National Treasure Glasses

Just sent my deposit... looking forward to receiving these... My girlfriend is a HUGE National Treasure fan... Her little monkey head is going to explode !

With the last payment in, this listing project is closed an in production for those above.

First set of frames arrived today. Loupes arrive tomorrow. Edmond Optics on order, the second back frame set on order,
Loupes will be modified this weekend along with the first set of frames.

I totally understand about delays from suppliers.
Things like that are totally out of your hands, I know what that is like - very frustrating.
Thank you for the update.(y))

Lenses grounded and fitted to the loupes. Now onto the frames.

Sorry to say still waiting on parts at this point. I called the supplier in advance and they noted they had the stock, kind of miffed I am waiting on these. My cost to make these is just under the final price, so I as well am tied up on cost with the parts I ordered and already have on hand. Just waiting at this point to complete the project. All the other parts are machined, drilled and ready to go, so once the parts are in, this will go quickly.
I received two of the back frame pieces, so two glasses will ship out his week.

Two popped together, just have to weather a little bit and they will be ready to go:

Great work!! :cool:thumbsup
Can't wait for them.

Will the front frames with the four lenses be painted? On the last pic they are silver and on the first post in this thread they are gold like the back frames.

Yes, weathered the silver rims today just before I posted now. I pop on a gold plate paint and then Dremel brush it. Makes the metal look like it is flaking on the rims and on the frames wearing of the plating. 18th century glasses are made of a slightly flexible metal so they can be bent to fit each person. They tend to be a tad smaller than modern glasses. I fit these as they are in the movie, the lenses are tension to move and stay to each position. I will let the paint dry on these first two over the next two days and then ship Wednesday.

The last four will depend on how soon the Franklin Frames make it in. If I don't hear back by Friday, I will give another call.

Looks like NZ post is on the ball with tracking here, hopefully they will show up either tomorrow or monday
