Narnia props behind the scenes

This is a really great video of Richard Taylor presenting the Narnia weapons. On the dvd he said that the urethane they used is similar to skateboard wheel rubber. Im wondering if its a hybrid semi rigid urethane. Im also impressed at the metallic finishes they have. Ive been unable to find a video that shows how to achieve that.
