Saw a post on these not that long ago and being a huge fan of Narnia decided to get one despite having made the larger maps on an earlier project here. I had printed a large 25X28 on actual parchment and then colorized it and then aged it to give it a real world map feel. But I swore if a licensed piece ever made it out on the market, I would make the purchase.
Sure enough, someone posted this one up:

I picked up a couple and received them today. They are smaller, 13X16 but with a great frame and etched glass that looks terrific. But the print stunk. Terrible, you cannot make out most of the detail from a foot away it was so faded. Because of that, at first thought, I was going to send them back for a refund. But the frame was so nice and the etching so good, I figured maybe I could substitute something inside. Being a boxed frame, it would make a super back ground display for some thing like the Mini MR Narnia pieces mounted inside.

Still, I really liked the map idea so I ended up printing out the colored map that New Cinema released here:

I printed out the full color copy on parchment using MS Publisher and then carefully folded and refolded the edges so I could tear them off. After doing so, I mounted the map on the black backing of the original frame mat and it came out looking terrific.
For $ 12.00, you cannot loose on this purchase. The frame and etched glasswork alone is worth it and with a bit more work, you can have an incredible display piece with the map or for your MR pieces as a background display box. If you have any Narnia collectables, this is well worth the purchase to get one or two of these.

Good review. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and how you made the best of the product. Any pics you can share of your final piece? I'd be curious to see how it looks... maybe before and after???
