Re: 1st EVA foam build:Mass Effect fem shep (WIP & PICS)

I saw this on your blog, I'm glad there's another Fem Shep on the forum!

You've got so much done already. You'll probably get to painting it long before I get to doing mine - but it's my specialty. I'd be happy to help out.

However, I'm gonna have to do some research on the electronics too...

Great job with the foam so far. Im making a garrus suit for 2013 nyc. soon after i make my mk8 suit for the premier of ironman 3. Where did u get ur pep files or did u frr hand it

Re: 1st EVA foam build:Mass Effect fem shep (WIP & PICS)

Thank you. I just found out today that i have one more part to do and thats the boot! I'm so happy as the suit is basically and will be all put together once they're done. I'll get those done today. Thank you very much Freya. If i come across any electronic tutorials i'll be sure to let you know what i find :)

Great work on your suit it looks amazing already with what you've done so far. Keep up the great work. :)

Hi Blackwindpep thank you. I got my files from AxiomUltra's his Mass Effect thread can be found here: http://www.therpf.com/f24/axiomultras-mass-effect-project-146406/

It appears that the files are unavailable so you will have to "Please like my facebook page and send me a PM for the patterns I used."

Hope this helps :) Good luck with your builds please keep me posted and Garrus ? Thats awesome!

Re: 1st EVA foam build:Mass Effect fem shep (WIP & PICS)

Small update on my progress of the boots. The final piece of the puzzle :D Coming along quiet nicely.

Re: 1st EVA foam build:Mass Effect fem shep (WIP & PICS)

Brought gloves today from Halloween Spirit and added the armor on to them. Gloves are done.Back to the boots.

Re: 1st EVA foam build:Mass Effect fem shep (WIP & PICS)

Added a little more to the boot so it's now almost done. The scaling is good it's perfect right up to my knee. As i mentioned in one of my previous submissions of the boot that it was to large so i will have to cut it down. Yeah, that's what i did and i patched it with hot glue. It will be filled and sanded and covered in 3 or so layers of PVA and possibly resin. Same goes for everything! :)

I'm extremely happy with how they're turning out :D :)

Re: 1st EVA foam build:Mass Effect fem shep (WIP & PICS)

Not to much has been done, working on it little by little. Not much of an update really. Work on the suit has slowed and recently i think i burnt myself out with a lot of building on my Halo suit. Was pretty much working on it straight for 2 months and that's a lot for me plus work. So here's some odd bits and pieces done here and there.

Been practicing for a future prop...Omni blade.

Omni Blade Practice. Brought some clear plexi from Home Depot a couple weeks ago and cut out my template. Unfortunatly as i was pulling it from the sheet it snapped…That’s why there’s green tape on it. I will be keeping it and it will be my practice piece. I will shape it and will etch in detail. When i’m happy with bending and etching i will probably buy some clear orange plexi when I come to making the real thing.

Just some practice for a future prop and with new material.

The helmet's visor isn't the real thing it's just a template. I will be using what i have left of the visor that i used for my Halo 4 recon helmet. A black motorcycle visor will be installed.

Worked a little on the boots yesterday. They're now 2 parts instead of being 1 big boot which gives better flexibility when walking and also is easier to put on my shoes. I'm currently cutting down parts of the boot to make it more fitting.

My first Nerf mod which i hope to resemble the M-9 Tempest.

Lots of side projects and variations of projects to keep me occupied and trying new things. Seriously is my biggest challenge. *shakes head*

Work is slow, progress is small but it's still progress.

Re: 1st EVA foam build:Mass Effect fem shep (WIP & PICS)

ever need some help or tips or idea's this is my build so far us fem shep builders need to stick together!! i m glad to see someone else with a helmet!

Thank you very much and your suit looks awesome! Very nice work. Are you a member of the N7 Elite costuming group I'm sure i've seen your suit on there FB page.

Project wise i have a lot under my belt as it is...but i'm thinking about possibly changing my Mass Effect suit. I'd like some thing different, still N7 but not Shepard. I'm thinking of possibly editing my suit to one of the N7 classes from the ME3 Mulitiplayer. It will be a huge challenge as I've only built with already built files. Something for me to think about for the future.

Re: 1st EVA foam build:Mass Effect fem shep (WIP & PICS)

Edit: Please ignore this to. Project scrapped for now main focus is the N7 Armor and Turian Ghost.

Re: Various Mass Effect Projects (WIP & PICS)

Thinking about things and reading a thread i posted here on theRPF a while ago asking if anyone is similar to me when it comes to building and getting projects finished. I've come to accept that i am a builder that has more than one projects going at a time.I go where my inspiration wants to. (still kinda annoying)

So to help me get these projects done and with more spare time I'm going to try and have at least 1 day for each project.

Been working on templates for the body armor. It's coming along quite nicely and I'm quite happy with how it's turning out so far. My reference's are my Garrus figure who sits on my desk with Legion and Shepard.Reference of the turian from various angles.

Here's a few pictures. Not very good as the card folds in and does it's own thing lol.

Re: Various Mass Effect Projects (WIP & PICS)

Got the body armor templates put together in foam. Will need to add detail and parts on to it as it's just the basic shape at the moment. I'm hoping the back will be more curved as i build onto. I will post pictures later. Right now I'm going to try and get templates done for the helmet...I"m a little anxious about making it as I've never free handed a helmet.

Mass Effect remixes and Imagine Dragons...Check
Reference photos....check

Here goes..

Re: Various Mass Effect Projects (WIP & PICS)

Some pictures of my Turian Ghost.

Been working on the helmet today got most of the front half done. As my Mass effect breather helmet fits well i used some templates for scale and a base to work on. That's helped me quite a bit so far :).

Here's a few pictures.I'm hoping the helmet will take more of a fitting shape as it continues to get built. I'm a little worried it will scrap on the body armor.

Not the best pictures. The helmet was balancing on the armor and on my head so it may look a little odd.

Re: Various Mass Effect Projects (WIP & PICS)

Got my Turian Ghost helmet built :) Quiet happy with it. Next step is to fill gaps, smooth and shape etc. Painted in a visor also. Lots of work to be done for the body armor just got the basic shape together at the moment. Look foreword to seeing how things go with this costume.

Re: Various Mass Effect Projects (WIP & PICS)

Been working on my N7 Armor and My Turian Ghost for the past week. Doing a little everyday.

N7: Adding detail to the ab's and scratched some damage on for practice.
Ghost: Building up the torso. Still having trouble making the back round but hope it does take shape. Just been smoothing edges and again using the dremal for detail on the helmet.

Gotten motivated to work on my Mass Effect projects as I'm hoping to attend PAX (if i can find tickets). Along with that if i can make it I will hopefully meet up with some local N7 Elites that attend. Now got more of a reason to get it finished than just cos.

Re: ME Armor and Turian Ghost (WIP & PICS)

Back parts are glued. Need to cut out the circle to put in a jello cup, smooth and shape.

Coming along nicely :)

Re: ME Armor and Turian Ghost (WIP & PICS)

Jello pot installed.I really like the look :) Might have to extend the bottom of it a little. But overall I'm happy with how it looks so far.
