What was your first MST3K experience?

It was in the mid-90s. I was about 10-12 and my family was still living in an apartment complex. I was channel surfing one night in my parents' bedroom and all of a sudden I see this strange looking alien creature. There's weird new age music playing, this kid looks is scared of this alien and all of a sudden, I'm hearing someone make jokes. Than someone else making jokes. I'm thinking, why does this clearly dramatic movie have jokes? Than the Host segment starts, and I'm still tied to the drama of this movie. And the host segment?

"Trumpy, you can do magic things!"

This segment was so random and so weird I changed the channel immediately and never looked back. I was so weirded out.

It wasn't until I came across The Movie when it was showing almost non-stop of STARZ that I got hooked, and it wasn't until the DVD set of Pod People when it all came together.

Son of TV's frank is going to be my new favorite cast member, Ithink... and I never heard of him before!

This is just like watching the craig ferguson LLS. they just don't give a crap that things are going wrong and having fun with it.

Mine was in the early 90s on Comedy Central. I remember it was on Saturday mornings. I watched it here and there, but it wasn't until the mid 90s I really got into it. It would play in the afternoons and my girlfriend at the time and I would watch it between our two classes. Good times.

same here. I had no doubt about 4.4. but doubted very much anything near 5.5. Joels reaction was priceless. it was also hillarious hearing the seperate mic audio when they crossed ;o).
