My V.2 Indy Idol - finally

Well, finally got a chance to paint and photograph the new idol.

It's painted with Krylon Premium 18k Gold Plate spray paint. Not the easiest paint to work with. Unlike most paints that tell you apply in thin coats, this stuff needs to go on in heavy, almost runny coats in order to be reflective. If you do it in thin coats, it gets all grainy and doesn't look right.

But on the upside, it's easier than the gold powder method and easily more repeatable.

Enjoy,
Fred

I tried buffing it with a cotton shirt and it didn't seem to change the sheen, any. I would try with a cotton wheel on the dremel, but it might end up taking the paint off. I wonder if I could buff it with the gold powder? I wonder what kind of effect that would have, if any?
