My unlicensed nuclear accelerator...

That's one of mine up there. Hop you don't need one soon, cause I'm booked through Halloween. PM me, we'll talk.

Not to sound like an idiot, but where can someone get an amazing looking proton pack like this one? I am very interested! Thanks.

Check www.gbfans.com - great site. I built a scratch pack from parts & tutorials there last year and just got my (much better) v71 Mark X shell. Very accurate and very niiiiice. :D

Thing is this site will start really getting busy between now and Halloween. So do your reasearch now and get parts that you're not going to build yourself. ;)

Fantasic site, unfortunately just about every pack component is out of stock. :( Any other places I can get parts to build a full pack?

That is a great looking pack! Nice use of electrical tape around the hose, looks SA to me.

For those who want one: If you're planning on getting the full costume done by Halloween, I recommend you start building/buying now. These things take months to build and I would estimate at least over a grand in costs. Maybe check out proptopia for info and parts - thats where I got my fibreglass shell.
And then there are the endless upgrades and mods as you find new pics and pieces...
I've got a more accurate GB1 ribbon on order, new brass hose fittings to add to replace resin ones and I haven't even started on getting the wand upgraded to be more SA.

Join and follow the forums at GBfans and Proptopia, I would place money on just about every part you need to build a pack popping up from misc people before Halloween, just be ready to jump on the ship when it comes by...

I offer and will continue to offer Fiberglass pack shells, pack and gun electronics, and misc aluminum parts...

Before Halloween my pack bumper will be in full swing, my sound kit v2 will be released, motherboards that are custom fit to my shells will be released as well as a few other metal parts that are in the works with the machinist as I type this...

So in short if you want a pack before Halloween start shopping now...

Awesome. I will definitely be on the list for all of those.

I would love to get better GB1 ribbon cable...

WHERE? :love

There are two GB1 ribbon runs underway at Proptopia.com right now. Check it out.

So, is this thread going to become the "Halloween Proton Pack Build" thread for 2009?

Well, ripping away I go!!
Here's one that just went out and was well received. Nate, your's was special, it was my 75th pack. This one is 76, with 77-79 on the workbench right now.

Exoray, I'm DYING to see one of yours finished off. Those are some cleaaaannn lines on yours. Like a Ferrari next to a Jeep.
I go for more of the cobbled look on mine.

Gah!!! He needs to straighten the Ion arm!! (those arrive needing screwed in)

Ribbon cable is upside down compared to mine.

I do have some GB2 cable, just have not installed it. Nice looking stuff:thumbsup

Wow the packs look awesome. Im currently trying to get motivated through my long build list of various things. This is still a bit of a way off but i so want to build one of these. Ghostbusters has always been that different sort of movie - nothing has really beaten it in terms of ghost hunting and scifi :)
There was a cool local group down here in the great land of Oz for supanova sydney though they were one man short they looked absolutely spectacular.

Thanks for the picture post love. Yeah, that's me, but the pack is actually my wife's. Mine is on it's way sooner rather than later, I hope! :) I always prefer the lived-in, non-symmetrical look and that crooked ion arm rocks! I'm a hard working Ghostbuster afterall. This pack has a job to do! It's not for show! Bent, broken, stained... that's for me!

Yeah if you want a pack order early. I always get people wanting electronics one week before Halloween! That never works out. :eek

FYI, I have our new integrated proton pack light and sound controller boards now in stock. Plus we have 40W sound modules that plug and play with the controller board. Makes for a very clean install that is super loud (enough to be heard in the noisiest con environment) and synchronizes all lights in the pack+wand.
