My TDK Suit Build By Gotham City Fx *Suit has arrived*

Is this just urethane or did they add carbon fiber

Unfortunately no Carbon fiber, but seeing as Coofunkcurly is in process of having pieces designed for 3D, may have a word with him. Failing that I have been in contact with Kris (Ludakris) about inserts. Now I have the suit I can do measurements to see if his will fit in to upgrade.

hahaha unfortunately bro the suit is all mine, you can touch it though?

I hope your still talking about the suit lol

I will have to get my ass moving and build a TDK suit again I had a latex one but it wasn't the best so I moved it on.

Will build one after the storm trooper and darth vader

Great work

Cool man would be good to see another DK suit in the UK, not sure if there is many :confused

Here is me finally suited up,

Need to tighten the Belt, my only probs is due to xmas and weight training I have grown around the chest so I cant do the zipper all the way up on the back lol!

Failing that I may have to get a seamstress (my old dear) to have a look see what she can do haha

anyway enough waffling here is the image!

The Cross trainer beckons!

Your looking great I think I will have to move this suit up in my list. Could you pm me the cost of the ureathe parts please

Might be a bit late, but I was thinking that other fabric that was stitched on to the movie suit might be some sort of venting. It looks like a hot suit to wear.

Suit looks great! I have the Gotham City FX cowl and I don't need talc to get it on, it is a pretty snug fit and my head is 23" around, not that huge. Depending on your pull, you may have to trim the insides of the cowl for better comfort. For mine I used a razor and scissors to trim the inside areas around the eyes as one side was too tightly pressed against my skin, caused my eye to bulge, definitely not going to scare criminals that way ;)

Question - how does the cape attach to the suit? I see you have it mounted in the right spot but don't know if your version of the suit has that lighter colored collar bone section separated so you can insert the cape into it or if you have another way of doing it.

Looks good Steve. Do you have any restrictions when moving around in the suit? Are you able to bend down at all like how you see in the promo pics?

The parts of the under suit was made that way to make movement easier I believe

Sure buddy will send you a pm in a mo! :)

The suit is like little vents, but will still be very hot to wear, mainly because the mesh is VERY course and if it chafes your going to know about it!

Sweet will give that a go. as at the moment I am having to put toilet tissue around the cheek bones to pad it out more. It is a very snug fit and will give you idea a go :) I also have a 23 inch head!

With regards to the cape, the cape has hoops so I can hook them onto the armour. under the light bit of the armour is a small hole so I can attach something like a hook, I will be securing them in that area :thumbsup

Unfortunately not, this could be due to me putting on some weight through training and xmas So Im going to cut down a bit but also take your previous advice.
Im going to see if there is any more mesh left and Im going to get my seamstress (The mother) to start adding patches to the suit like you pointed out previously.

Did you mention also the suit was in two parts and not an all in one?

Cheers

I believe the original is a one piece suit. I think there might be some stretchy fabric around the waist area under the belt that might help with movement and should be easy to add. Pretty sure it wraps around the back to the other side. Really can't tell from the pics what kind of fabric it is but its definitely different from the mesh on the original.

I think that black strip is velcro and there to hold the belt in place .reason I think this is the belt is to high in that photo

This thing looks outstanding.

Hmm ok going to see how Brad sorted his body mesh out, does anyone know if he still uses the forums here?

I've emailed brad about the pattern just waiting on a reply

Brilliant Cheers matey!

Ive just seen Matt Munson also used this mesh, just going through his blog to see what he did, failing that will message him.

Let me know what is said from Brad man, do you know him?

I don't think its Velcro . They're plenty of other pictures where you can see the fabric more clear. The belt is high like that because there is a piece attached to the back thats holding up the mannequin under the belt.

Also if you look closely at the holes of the mesh you can see the fabric behind it that looks the same as the fabric on the waist under the belt. It appears to have the same texture. If you go to Steve's archive and look at the high res pics you can see it a bit better on other places where the mesh holes are more exposed. On the neck too your able to see it but even with the last pic I just posted you can notice the same texture between the carbon plates. Just an observation as it could be a different fabric all together.
