My Tardis Lamp Project

I was inspired by a thread on here by Kylash327 from long ago to do this. After looking long and hard to find the correct lantern on ebay, I finally did. I got it really cheap. I wanted to create the current Tardis lantern and hope to someday build a full size tardis of my own.

I had to modify the lantern the same way that the BBC did. I still have some more work to do on it to make it fully complete the way that I want. I have to make a base and the dowel supports that are suppose to hold up the top. Then I will display it with the rest of my Doctor Who prop replicas. The flash on my camera makes it look lighter than it actually is.

The first pic is my replica and the second pic is of the original lantern from the Tardis.

Well all of the police boxes here have been sold off to a coffee chain so I wouldn't feel tooooo bad about "aqquiring" one in the dead of night.

I agree, looking good. those Gaurdsman lanterns are hard to come by..seems like feast or famine at times. Great job.

I was lucky to find a 2 pack of them so I still have one that is untouched. I am planning on keeping it till I can build my own Tardis, but the right price might change my mind one day.
