And a close look a the bases, which mimic the Icons ones but with much crisper and better detail. These were made with Tony Agustin's tile sets available at Starship Modeler and a scratch built pedestal and extra tile of my own making:

Next I am going to change the tile configuration to do a custom Icons style DS base for my Vader TIE and Y-Wing, which I just finished prepping for the paint job.

Jerry, those are awesome. Great work, what are the models? Is that the Power FX?

They are the Neissen TIE and original issue Captain Cardboard X-Wing studio scale models.

CK-

The plaques can be seen in the first pictures.

If you tell Toby what you want at that link I posted, he can make your plaques custom.

Mine simply used this format:

Left corner: Lucasfilm Logo Right Corner: Rebel or Imperial Insignia

Center Logo: Star Wars

Smaller Font Centered:

Luke Skywalker's
X-Wing

or

Imperial
TIE Fighter

Toby has all the logos and fonts and can customize the plaques as you wish.

P.S. Thanks for your inspiration... when I saw your base using the SSM tiles and custom ones you did I followed suit scratching the extra pieces also. These sure beat the crappy ICONs bases.

JV,

I got an Icons X Wing where one of the joint on the laser cannons on the wings came off. Since I do not know anything about modelling, is it possible to repair that?

The gun was connected to the wing with three joints. The third joint (when you are looking from the front of the plane) broke off. The remaining two joints cracked and now I can turn the gun horizontally.

I can glue back the two joints that cracked. My question is whether a modeller can recreate the third joint that broke off.

Your assistance is appreciated. Thanks.

Can you post pictures so I can give you some advice? I had a CC X-Wing, not an Icons, but I can't imagine it would be hard to repair?

Attached was a picture of Icons X Wing. If you look at the cannon of the furthest wing you can see that there are three joints that connect to the wing.

If you look at the cannon of the nearest wing there are only two joints. The first joint on your right broke off.

Also look at the top two exhaust behind the left and right engines.
The point where the exhaust connect to the right engine have a gap.
The point where the exhaust connect to the left engine have no gap.

So my problems are
- whether a new joint can be created between the gun and the wing
- whether the gap at the spot where the exhaust connect to the engine can
be covered properly as if nothing have happened.

You assistance is appreciated. Thanks.
