My R. Cooper Sandcrawler in progress

I plan to just add a couple detail bits for interest and then try to bend the ladder like on the original. That's about it really. Here's a few shots of extra detail bits I put on it.

Nice work on this kit. Agreed with the others your super detailing is excellent as shows your attention to detail in your builds.

thanks gents. I have only one thing left to do before priming all the parts and that is making the little disk shaped caps with pulls on them that go in the recess on the cab roof. I bought the rod I am gonna use and made a test lid..........used brass wire for the pull handle. Looks nice. So I will make those tomorrow and them them installed. Then she'll be ready.

Dave :)

Here are some preliminary basecoat pics. I forgot to snap pics in primer.....doh!!!!

The basecoat is somewhat satiny so it reflects a bit, but once I weather it, all that will disappear.

Wow phantastic great looking work :thumbsup

Are you creating a full diorama including this kit or will it be a stand alone on diplay model ?

When that paint goes on it really picks out the detail!! We're almost there!!! I have to say going that extra bit further with the detail really helps the builds, though at the time you do wonder. Great progress with her , Dave, I look forward to discussing painting technics when we get to them.

Thanks man. Obviously it's alot more apparent in person. It's hard to photograph that as the LEDs are not very bright. At first I thought it was too dim, but then I started looking at movie stills and decided to leave it as is. :) Now the fun part begins, the rust and white weathering.

Thanks man. I've got all the hand painted details finished so now I just have to airbrush on some more weathering and get the headlights finished and call it done. :)
