My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival : The Godfather

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival, New Display, New Wall Some Musical Ch

Thanks TheDuc :)

I've been into movies and props forever. But been collecting 'seriously' (in bulk :lol), and I say serious hesitantly because all this is fun, oh I dunno .... 3 to 4 years (?)

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival - MIB

First, some serious stuff.

In the recent PIH auction, this RKO Art Board Logo went ballistic, and sold for $210,600, almost 7 times over its estimate.

RKOB-656x441.jpg

Now I know that many members here couldn’t keep their fingers off the keyboard, and got absolutely wild bidding on this item. But only one person won it.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t me.

Out of frustration for having lost the original, and after exhaustive research and painstaking graphics rendering, I have come up with this totally irreproducible replica :

rkoF-758x576.jpg

Printed on the finest Logic500 paper, incorporating ColorLok Technology, and using a sophisticated Canon EyePee Quattromilatrecento.

The frame is made of pure and unadulterated 'maybeus woodus', and is foot-carved by a native of Borneo. It was purchased from the ‘DellDollarus’ exclusive establishment, caterers to the most sophisticated of art connoisseurs.

Since the original Chitty Chitty Bang Bang GEN 11 Car went unsold in the same PIH auction, I may decide to put some spare change together and make the owner a direct offer.

Therefore, if I can be persuaded, (or bribed), I may decide to put a number of these works of art available in the Junkyard, at only $15,000 a piece, limited strictly to 100 pieces.

It would come with an exclusive COA of course. (This is an optional extra, and would be at an additional $500 each).

Sorry, no pre-orders. First come first served only.

--------------------------------------------------

EDIT 18 May - I have just learnt that although it went as "passed" on the live PIH auction, the CCBB GEN 11 Car in fact sold.

Sorry to disappoint all those who were eagery awaiting for the RKO replica, but the project has been cancelled. And please don't ask me to sell you mine.

This unique replica is going into a bank vault.

:lol

--------------------------------------------------

Now with that serious addition out of the way, here is my latest arrival, a space-filling Neuralizer from Men in Black.

This must be a first – a display case that is more expensive than the content :lol

Somebody please put me out of my misery.

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrivals - TINTIN

Since I would have had no space for one of wasili's astonishing models, in this very nice box today

TTB-279x600.jpg

... came this superbly made, and quite heavy (!), 29 cm Moon Rocket Model from Tintin's adventures 'Destination Moon' and the sequel 'Explorers on the Moon'.

TTMR2-453x700.jpg

TTMR3-302x600.jpg

Also got me these guys to go with the mood :)

TTfigs2-720x577.jpg

And the set came along with the Rocket's younger brother

Now I filled that space I had cleared a few posts up, to make way for this display, and underneath, finally, also a decent place to keep my Tintin book collection and some others.

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival - STARGATE CHEVRON. BUILD & DISPLAY.

Having finished the Voodoo Doll Tutorial, and finally, also the house maintenance, I thought I'd treat myself to a little reward - a self-built Chevron from Stargate.

Didn't want to spend too much on this, so mostly used what was lying around.

From the garage, an old piece of plywood. Messed around with the design a little till I liked it.

Some cutting

c22.jpg

Some glue

Raided the youngests' stationary drawer :lol

Some light fixtures

Ouch :cry

Paint, drill, nail etc, and voila. Not screen-accurate, but so long as I look at it and it yells "Chevron 1 encoded !", it's fine with me :)

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival - STARGATE CHEVRON. BUILD & DISPLAY.

You really do have an awesome collection!! :)

That chevron looks great hung on the wall, even better knowing you made it from a scrap piece of wood. I love the lighting effect.

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival - STARGATE CHEVRON. BUILD & DISPLAY.

Nice work Alan. But instead of ripping out part of your wall for the wire they have something called FlatWire. You can paint over it and no destructiveness on the wall.

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival - STARGATE CHEVRON. BUILD & DISPLAY.

Fantastic Collection

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival - STARGATE CHEVRON. BUILD & DISPLAY.

Excellent work on the Chevron!!

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival - STARGATE CHEVRON. BUILD & DISPLAY.

A nice addition to your collection but there is a very big problem with it ..........

All the dusting :)

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival - STARGATE CHEVRON. BUILD & DISPLAY.

Thank you kind sirs, very much appreciated :)

Well, I had the wire, the chisel, a hammer, filler, paint, and time ... so I figured why not :lol Like this there is no 'trace evidence' at all, not even a little bump of flatwire :thumbsup

.......... All the dusting :)

... I know :cry

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival - STARGATE CHEVRON. BUILD & DISPLAY.

Where did you find that black stallion statue?

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival - STARGATE CHEVRON. BUILD & DISPLAY.

I found the statue at blackstallion.com in the gift shop. Have to buy one of those!!

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival - STARGATE SG1 - My Largest Replica

When building the Chevron, I had this prop replica in mind, a Jaffa Staff from Stargate SG1, which I had commissioned from our very own Korbanth a couple of weeks earlier.

Went to collect it from the Post Office this morning, Kriiiiiiiii'd all the way home, and set about displaying it at once :lol

Having made so much space with the 'new' wall, I would have been nuts not to take advantage and get this beauty, which has always been put on the back-burner on my 'to get' list. :)

The Stargate display I had in mind has come true :)
