Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrivals - Stargate SG1 / SGA) + SGU
Thanks Paddy

.
The Rosetta Stone I have is roughly 15 X 11 cms :thumbsup
----------------------------------------------------------
It's been a while since I got something that required me to do some musical chairs with a wall .... and at the same time made me wait a little before starting to put it in place while I recovered from a nerdgasm :lol
A year (or whenever, its probably more :lol) ago I had made me a Chevron from Stargate. It was a very quicky build, totally inaccurate :lol, but I still liked it
However, when Andy (andy19422) started his own Chevron build, and contrary to my 'policy' of not upgrading my replicas, I
knew I was going to succumb to the temptation to get me one.
It arrived yesterday afternoon.
I had already started to take props off the wall to calculate where to place it and so forth as soon as Andy told me it was mailed. So when it came, I just put it up & reorganised the other items around it.
OK, lets start with the meat
First of all, the unboxing felt like I had just received a package from a professional manufacturer :eek
Everything arrived safely, the bubble wrap was abundant and all tightly packed with styrene protection too.
Secondly, Andy told me that he included a gift in the box.
What I was absolutely NOT expecting was a beautiful finished Wall Sconce replica from Stargate Universe :eek :eek :eek
Once again, THANKS Andy
It made the musical chairs more interesting though, as I had only calculated for the Chevron :lol ... but it was twice the fun !
As for the Chevron itself, well, I don't even know where to start, so I'll list what springs to mind : screen-accurate, fantastic, big, heavy, sturdy, professionally built, flawless casting, astonishing paint job, detailed, artistic, clever use of inner space .... phew :lol
Besides all that, it came with everything needed to hang it up, including the brackets, screws and template for the holes. 6 whirls with the drill & that was it !
I had asked Andy to leave all the wiring internal, because since the Chevron I had built had a wire going through the wall to light it up, I just connected Andy's and that was it.
Man I've rambled on :lol
So onto the pics ....
This is what the wall looked like before, and my Chevron (I'm almost ashamed of it now :lol)
Part of the removal, calculating, process to accommodate the new Chevron, removal of other props etc
And (drumroll .......:lol) here is the Chevron & Sconce in place
Note in the next one, the Facehugger went walkies again :lol.
:lol
.... ahem :behave, continuing with the Chevron ....
Here it is lit up as a Stargate Atlantis Chevron ....
.... and here as a Chevron from Stargate SG-1
All lit up, ZPM included, in natural light
