My Predator Artwork

Honestley I would stop trying to compare your work here Marley, thread jacking is really rude. If you want to show it off there is NOTHING wrong with starting a new thread an showing off your own talent. Everybody gets to shine on here.. :)

Bone Collector: Your work is great.. Like I said keep up the good work

Are you ******** me MarleyHunter??? You're trying to upstage another artist who may be a different age and learning at a different pace?! Lose your attitude ASAP, humble yourself, and STOP hijacking other people's threads with your own work. You want to show everyone how ******* awesome your work is, then create your OWN THREAD. I'm deleting your post now.

Uh-Oh!!! Somebody got in trouble. :)

Lets keep this thread clean and nice from now on, shall we? :)
Bone Collector, if you have any more drawings, dont be discouraged to put them up here. You're doing great.

Bone Collector... I think your work is great for the age you are at. I know when I was that age, I loved drawing, and I practiced every chance I got. In time I got my proportions to look better, and the depth of "foreshortening" to stand out (which is no easy task).

I will give you this tid bit of information. If you find any videos, or books on drawing the human figure and other objects... snag them up. I use these like crazy, and am still using them for reference because I don't draw as much as used to. Also, comic books bro... these were what inspired me to draw, and made me realize that everyone has their own style.

Here are a few books I recommend:

thanks for all the info :) ,and all the post that did not insult me.

Bone Collector? I was wondering how you started up your drawings. Do you draw from the head down with detail from the very beginning, or do you use a "stick man" base to build on top of? I remember I used to draw without planning it out, then I gradually started using lighter lines to set up my drawing before I darkened and detailed it up.
Just a little tip, that's all. It looks a bit messy at first, but with enough practice (and you seem to be on fire posting these pictures up :)), it really comes in handy. Helps the proportions and makes it so that you don't have to erase after you spent a lot of time doing fine work.

Bone Collector,

Hey dude, you have some skills and potential. I think your illustrations are pretty damn good, especially for being 13.
It looks like you are off to a great start. Getting criticism can be a good thing to help you become a better artist, if it is given respectfully and honestly.
Anyway, The key is to practice, practice, practice and draw every chance you get. (Just try not to draw too much in class.)

I would pick up a sketchbook and a decent pencil set that you can carry around with you everywhere you go. Draw everything you see, no matter how boring or exciting. Buildings, landscapes, people - whatever is around.

Here a few books I can recommend, but get whatever books teach you what your're interested in.

This book I would get first, a lot of artists consider it sort of a bible, and an awesome place to start.
Bridgman's Complete Guide to Drawing from Life

Dynamic Anatomy by Burne Hogarth

Dynamic Light & Shade by Burne Hogarth

Drawing Cutting Edge Comics by Christopher Hart

I would also start learning as much as you can about:
Composition
Perspective
Color theory

There are plenty of tutorials all over the Web, just search and you will find. YouTube is full of them.
Good luck, great work, and keep us updated. Never stop drawing...

Mike

yes i do start from the head down, but i add the details last.

Cool, cool. Well, I'd say to keep pluggin' away at it. Proportion's pretty much the only issue here, and that can easily be fixed with practice. Your linework is already clean and neat, so it's easy to tell what's going on in the drawings. All there is to it.

Best of luck! And post some more pics!

i drew like this when i was 6....
im 14 now and i've been in competitions :)
(born artist)

I have a friend that has same drawing skills like you... by the age of 17 he mastered it through practice
(but im still better than him)
Im saying that you can do it... and you have great potential, other people are worst...
you're good... not just great, but someday you will be...

im new BTW
(first post) o_O

Allright then, instead of boasting show us some of ur artwork. Show some respect o_O

I love to see threads like this ...personally i love your artwork, i think your line work is very clean and your attention to detail is great.
The fact that your so young makes this even better because you will just keep getting better and better.

I want to see more from you,...keep up the good work BC, you've got a big fan in me.
